I am looking for The family of John Jacob Miller who was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1877. His father was James Miller and his mother was Ann Kirchman (we think as she maybe a stepmother). The Miller’s are supposed to have Blackfoot Indian in it. As far as we can tell they never traveled west. We have a family photo of a white man, a mixed boy, and an indian woman. Another photo is of the whole family and includes several who look of Indian descent. Both photos are tintypes which were poular from the 1850’s to the 1920’s. Clothing suggestes that the picture was most likely take between 1870-1900. The family story is that our ancester’s name was Moonface. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be helpful.
December 14, 2004 at 8:08 am #12265Welcome phimuliz, from another who has PA Blackfoot in her background. Just for the heck of it, I searched the Miller genforum for Blackfoot. It pops up several times and in the right places, PA, WVA, etc. In fact, as I explore my Green/Huston genealogy, I find a lot of Millers. They were from Berkeley County, WVA and Licking County, OH, not my direct ancestors but some who married siblings.

December 14, 2004 at 8:08 am #12286Hey and howdy,
Did you say Millers are supposed to have Blackfoot? I’ve been stuck with my Rachel C. Evans, her dad Ezra Evans, and her Mother Elizabeth Miller. They were all in Crawford county Indiana. 2 counties over from the Blackfoot Cemetary. I’ve been wanting to search both those Evans and those Millers back, back to see where these folks came from. Thank you so very much for posting this. It just might help, who knows? 🙂 Love & Light, Lynella.
