I ran across this database looking for Tanner. I haven’t begun to sort all of this out, but Lodowick Tanner is brother to Lewis Tanner. (one of my direct lines). These lines intersect and I’m confused but Branch Tanner names in his will, Mary Page Tanner Bolling..his natural natural daughter with the second natural underlined…I want to find this whole database not just the T’s but see the Trent names and pictures?!!!

I haven’t gotten back to this…but it will really take some time to sort this one out if possible. I didn’t realize the Tanner connection to these other names. Now finding a bunch and finding it so very confusing. 🙂
Just the tip of the iceberg I think. Tanner and Haskins and Aaron Haskins and Mary Goode and daughter Rebecca to Wm. Bass. These are the Nansemond Bass. I may need a new thread. What has happened on my father’s mother’s side of the family is that they all go back to very early Va except for one surname that I see so far and they were here late pre-revolutionary war..but late compared to the others. I went over the site you posted. Tabb is the name of Capt Tabb’s Co in NC.
Josiah Daniel (below) and Daniel Parker – a ggg grandfather – were listed as part of Capt Tabb’s Co. Other Daniel’s listed as part of
Capt Bessant’s Co.
Also, The site has the wrong surname for Elizabeth Sherman’s mother ( married to Henry Trent ).
Henry Sherman (Immigrant) m. Mary Alexander
Henry T. Jr. + Cecily Farrar ( not Blackman)
Wm. T. + Ursulla Goode
Henry T, + Sarah Powell ( married 11-12-1787 , Campbell Co. VA ).
Priscilla Powell + Josiah Daniel ( moved to Rowan, NC)
Mary Daniel + Daniel Foster
Sarah Ann Foster + Morgan Howard ( my maternal great- grandparents).
* Cecily’s mother was Cecily Reynolds who arrived 1610 VA. on the
ship The Swann with her Uncle Pierce and Aunt Joan.
Cecily was 10 yrs old.
She married , age 14. She had 5 husbands: Bailey/Jordan/Farrar/Montague/Parker.
Cecily Farrar ( daughter ) married 1st: Hutchins ( one son only , I believe,
named Robert H. ) Then she married Henry Trent , Jr.
Also, unrelated to the site- John Powell (Immigrant) VA Arrived 1609-1610 ” The starving time”. Married Bouldin.

AnonymousInactiveHi!
Yes. You can help me. I’m trying to find the correct Powell line for
Sarah Powell who married Josiah Daniel November 12th 1787 in Campbell County , Virginia.
I found James + John Powell on the Chesterfield, VA 1783 census- one of only a few that survived the 1812 War. I think one is the father .
Thank you
Magnolia
These are confusing particulaly since I discovered a Ware + Powell marriage that wasn’t legal according to british law and their children were using the mother’s name. They had a house that is now a historic site called “‘Edgewood’ , I think. in VA.
I also found Powells later located in SC in a place called Edgewood.
They probably named it after the VA house.

AnonymousInactiveThank for looking.
Last night I was thinking about the information I got from
http://www.angelfire.com/tv/trent/bmarsh.html
There is a WILL of Samuel Branch married to Ursulla Goode
(sister to your Joseph Goode) It blew me away.
Samuel I have seen on line, was born 1663 and Ursulla 1676.
He was 13 years older. He died May 3, 1700 , Will probated 08/01/1700.
He died at the age of 37. Apparently, according to the Will, Ursulla must have died before him ( 1700). The will lists Sam, Jr.,Martha and Ursulla (only 3 children-minors) I think Ursulla was born 1690 so she would be 10yrs, old when her father died.
He says ” I give and bequeathed to my daughter Ursulla
ye next living child which my Indian woman Judith shall or may hereafter bear.”
I don’t know if more children are listed except these three and if they are they probably were born after Ursulla’s mother Ursulla Goode died.
Those children would most likely be Samuel’s by Judith.
Then, I realized that Ursulla Branch married William Trent ( the first of her three husbands).
Her second husband was Wm Trent’s s sister-in-law Elizabeth Scott m.11-23-1751 , Manakin, VA. Ursulla’s second husband , I think, was Elizabeth’s brother, Walter Scott.
Elizabeth was the first wife of Alexander Trent.
I think Judith was very young and may have been the 2nd wife of Alexander, who is reported on this angelfire website, to be an unnamed
Cherokee woman.
The site I listed before has Henry Trent with two Indian women listed as Moll & Judah.
I think maybe Judah/is Judith .
