During an August ceremony hosted by the NC Office of Human Resources, Executive Director of the Commission of Indian Affairs Gregory Richardson received the 2025 Richard Caswell Award in honor of 46 years of state service. He was among eight state employees who received the honor for “extraordinary commitment to public service.
Richardson, a member of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe, has worked with the Commission of Indian Affairs, part of the NC Department of Administration, since 1975. Haliwa-Saponi Tribal Chief Dr. B. Ogletree Richardson and Gregory Richardson’s family were among those who attended the recent ceremony.
