I am seeking any information on Robert Samples and (N)Annie Lilly who had a son named Newt Samples in 1889. This is an especially frustrating dead-end for me since there is no info in the census and this part of my family did not talk about relatives or history. I have Newt’s WW1 Draft Card and his Death Certificate. Newt was my father’s paternal grandfather.
My second most frustrating dead-end is Creed Smith. My mother remembers meeting him but not any details except that he and Allie Phillips had a daughter named Evie (or Eva) Virginia Smith (Keller after Allie married Thomas Keller). I have Evie’ Death Certificate. Evie was my mother’s paternal grandmother.
I have run into issues such as my paternal grandfather changed his name from Bernie Odell Ragland to Jack Perkins Ragland and my paternal grandmother calling herself Beatrice Scott (Samples) Ragland and then finding her real name was Beatrice Exie. If anyone sees anything or has a common link, please let me know, I am from Richwood, WV.

Are your smith’s from WV? What are some dates for these Smith’s?
My sister’s mom is a Smith…there are also Sexton and Collins in this line.

I just found a WW1 Draft Registration shows he was born 8 Jan 1874 in Doddridge County, WV and his wife was named Minnie. So I am off to expand on this.

Evie or Eva Virginia Keller Smith (Creed and Allie Phillips Keller were never married)
Born: 9/8/1895 Doddridge County, WV, USA
Died: 10/3/1954 Richwood, Nicholas, West Virginia, USA
married to:
Edrick Goad
Born: 10/1/1890 Strange Creek, Braxton, WV, USA
Died: 6/28/1948 Fenwick, Nicholas, WV, USA
Their son, Ernest Goad was my Maternal Grandfather
Ernest Goad
Born: 5/21/1913 Arcola, WV
Died: 7/5/1988 Marlington, WV
(This was the nearest Nursing Home with space, he lived all but his last 3 months in Richwood)
