Who were the Dagg’s? Do you know where that name came from? There was a tribe in Virginia called the Doegs. Probably just a coincidence, but you can find their story here:
http://www.greattradingpath.com/native-american-indian-history/index.htm
These are a number of original source materials on Bacon’s Rebellion, quite a bit to get through. Basically, the Rebellion began when some Doegs got cheated in a trade with some English. They stole some hogs to get recompensed. Then they were killed in retaliation. Then the English went and attacked some Susquehannah in revenge. (Totally unrelated tribe.) Things deteriorated from there.
Alternatively, if you’re family’s always been in the Petersburg area, that was in the Piedmont, and as such, would have been Siouan (Saponi, Monican, Occoneechee, Tutelo, etc.)
Do you have a larger version of the pix? I can’t really make it out.

Thank you so much for the information and yes my uncle’s family has always lived and all of his children were born ther except one that was born in P.A., where they moved in the earley 1920’s. I also have a larger picture of my uncle but it’s on my family tree. If you should want to visit my family tree please send me your private email. It is the same picture that I
have copy onto this site but you can enlarge it on my tree. My mother’s maiden name is Daggs and her family came from Dumfires, Fredsricksburg, and Stafford in Prince William V.A.
Thank you again for all the information.
