Hello.
I apologize for not being able to remember who asked me about the Shaws. I don’t have all of the info that I would like, but here is some that I picked up off of a geneology site for Halifax co. it was submitted by the grandaughter of my father’s uncle, Bernard Pepper.
Here is what I have:
6. Stephen Pepper (-1805)
marries : 6. Mary Bobbit (-1805)
Produces : Stephen Pepper (-1850
and Mary “Polly” Pepper (1780-)
Stephen Pepper (-1850) marries Lucy unknown
produces: Stephanus Pepper (1825-1878)
Mary “Polly” Pepper(1780-)
marries Elliot “Ellet” Shaw
produces Jane Elizabeth Shaw(1827-1869)
Jane Elizabeth Shaw (1827-1869)
marries Stephanus Pepper (1825-1878)
produces William Moses Pepper(1862-1926)
He is my great great grandfather.
I also picked this up from the net. The author HAS to be my first cousin Theresa Aguirre. The e mail no longer works. This is a direct paste of the end of her post. I am adding it only because it mentions other names that have come up on this forum. I am only beginning to try to track this down.
She writes:
I am decendant of JOSEPH DICKENS, down from WILLIAM DICKENS. My grandmother was
Rena Bell Smith (Dickens) of Halifax Co.
This DICKENS family lineage is written about in a book I have: “Historical Southern
Families”, Vol. 1X; by John Bennett Boddie,Published by Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore 1971. Does this information help you? Names also in my line from Halifax area: HUX, BASS, GREEN, SMITH, PEPPER,PITTS
It may seem strange that I have no way of contacting my own first cousin. We aren’t a close family.
I wonder if the Green, the Hux, are part of the geneology of others on the forum.
