Six Children at a Birth

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Sept 7–The wife of Charles Billings, a poor, illiterate

mountaineer living in Ashe county N.C., twenty-eight miles from the nearest

railroad station, has just given birth to six children, all boys. They

weigh from four and a half to nine pounds each and all are alive. Mrs.

Billings is of medium stature and 31 years old. She has four other

children, but they were single births.

Wow, I wonder what became of them.

My mother’s parents had fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. They lived out on a farm. The doctor came by and said Regina wasn’t going to make it, but my grandfather sat up all night spoon-feeding her milk. She survived.
