Vincent Tapp married Rosanna Hopson..Charles Allen Jr. married Martha Tapp and brother David Allen married Eliza Tapp. These Allen brothers are sons of Charles Allen and Nancy Melton..His father one of the Drury Allens..Drury who married Lurana Hartgrove. Father to this Drury is robert Allen II and Elizabeth Young. Three other children of Charles and Nancy Melton married Meltons. Getting more and more interesting..Sue J

Is there a controversy over the marriages of William Tapp born circa 1725? Some websites show Eliz. Doggett and Rebecca Fowler..some Eliz. Lunsford..some all of them..easily could be all of them..Sue J
I am very interested in the Tapp family from Culpeper Va. My ancester is James Tapp son of William III. I have been tested (DNA) and found to be of the American Indian Heritage. I can trace back a long way but I have reached an impass when it comes to William II. Please let me know what you can help with. I also have a family site that has a lot of names that you are more then welcomed to jion and see how the information is with yours. Thanks Chuck

Thank you so much for responding..I don’t know much more than you do..I thought maybe someone here on the forum could shed some light on this. I would visit your family site but I have no other knowledge that has not been posted right here..I was trying to get a sense of who connnected to whom and Allens and Tapps connected. With many other names as well. Allen is my direct line..I have much more info on that line…but I will gladly help in any way I can…

The Allens that I have on my family tree (21 Total) start with David Allen m. Eliza (Elizabeth) Tapp daughter of Vincent R. Tapp and Rosanna Hopson, Vincent’s father was William Tapp IV and Elizabeth Doggett and his father was William Tapp III and Elizabeth Bourne. I have David’s parents also but I am sorry I will have to write them down and send them to you. Is this your line and which Allen do you decend from? Chuck

The line is the same, David Allen and Eliza Tapp. David descends from Robert Allen II brother to Joseph Allen, my direct Allen ancestor..both sons of Robert Allen I and Elizabeth Walker. In between Robert II and David are Charles Allen and one of the Drury Allens (there are several). Within this thread on previous post it showed this (I think).!
