I am new to this site and just beginning to research the Thackers. I know my 2nd Great Grandmother was Catherine Thacker Thacker who married what I am told was her cousin Henry Harrison Thacker. Catherine’s parents were Nimrod Nicholas Thacker & Francis Grover. Henry’s parents are George Washington Thacker & Sarah Evans Cooper. I have read old posts describing how difficult these Thackers are to figure out and I see why. Someone mentioned Nimrod’s military papers and I would love to have a copy and would be willing to pay for them. I think I probably have Nimrod’s children but does anyone know his siblings. I found a death record in Vinton Co., for Chapman Thacker born 1812, father David. Is he Nimrod’s brother ? I can’t seem to find anything on George Washington Thacker. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated and cherished. I am also willing to share whatever I have with whoever is interested.
