My great grandmother was born in Waldron, Indiana and her mother died during her birth. Dr. and Mrs. James Jenkins (doctor that delivered her) adopted her. Her parents were 100% Blackfoot Indian so we were told. I am trying to find out if, in fact, what tribes were in the Waldron, Indiana during March of 1871. Her name was Dollie E. Jenkins and we would love to know more information regarding our heritage.

Do you have the census records for them, or have you tried tracing them further back?

The Beech Settlement was in neighboring Rush County, which borders Shelby County on the east side.
