Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Hi guys. I’ll be dropping off the WHALEY/MURPHY names here soon. Thought it might be fun to see if there is a tangible connection between these (and other) Delaware Blackfoot families and any of the families down South…perhaps build a bridge.
I’ve spent some time perusing this “Share Gen” section and I’m even more impressed than ever with Saponitown. Wish I’d known to come here first. I can understand why you fought so adamantly on behalf of dogged research, Bill, when you thought I was attacking it. Yours is amazing…astoundingly thorough and efficient. You are absolutely tireless! My hat’s off.
By the way, Techteach, I also have PARR lines (mine are from VA/NC), but all are on my grandmother’s side and she never mentioned an Indian ancestry…that I can recall. I could post them just in case, though…shall I? There’s also a BYNUM in the mix.

Thanks for the thought, Cedar, but Parr is a surname that marries a peripheral line. I don’t have time to follow it up right now. It is interesting, though. That is a surname in a treaty in Prairie Du Chien that states that this gentleman married a NA woman. I also went to HS with a Parr and you could see the NA in his features. But I don’t have time right now to work on the direct line, so I will take a raincheck.
