I am looking for information on William Crawford Gibson b. 1892 Tenn?. d. 1946 m. Martha Ellison. I am looking for his parents…siblings. I located a picture of him and he looks much like my grandmother and ggrandmother etc. However, the photo is not mine, so I cannot share. If you have a subscription to ancestry.com, the photo can be viewed there. I would appreciate any help on this one I can get.:)

I ran across him before. There are two of them, naturally, and related.

One is the son of

Rush Gibson, b.1857 Hancock Tn and Jane (or Martha Jane?).

Rush voted in 1891 Hancock Co.

His son William, b.abt. 1891 Hancock Tn (but b. Mar 1889 and listed 1900 as Crawford), is the one purported to have m’d

Martha Ellison, b. 12 June 1893 Hancock, d. abt. 1940 or so, Corbin Co., KY.

(d/o Floyd Ellison, b.1864 and Mary Caledonia Rickman, b. Feb 1870 Hancock.)

Rush, son of Jessie (?) Gibson, b.1817 Tn, and Malisa, b.1843 Tn.

I’ve looked into the 2 Crawford Gibsons before, to determine which of the William Crawford Gibson’s m’d Martha Ellison/Allison, but those notes are buried in a huge paper Gibson file at the moment and I don’t remember what I “thought” I had figured out 🙂

Shepherd GIBSON, b. 15 Mar 1817 Tn, d. before 1876 Hancock Tn, and

Sarah COLLINS, b.12 Jun 1832 Hancock Tn, d. 14 Mar 1920 Hancock Tn.

Shepherd, son of Jesse (?) Gibson and Niela.

Sarah, dau of Simeon Collins, b.1803 Tn, and Frankie Bunch, b.1805, Tn.

No surprise, there really are two of them t’driv’ya nuts 🙂

Thanks Bill, I should have known the answer would not be “cut and dried”:rolleyes: He does definately look like a Gibson. Thanks for posting the info on both, I will see what I can turn up.
