Does anyone know anything about parents of Margaret Williams? I have her on several censuses.
She was born July 1 1836 and died 3-9-1912 in Wake County NC. She was the daughter of Peyton / Paton P & Priscilla Willams. She married Sherwood House 1-1-1852 in Wake County. I have a list of Margaret’s children.
Rumor has it that she is indian. In the picture I have of her I don’t really see it. But the guy who sent it to me tells me it is true. He didn’t say why.

June 26, 2008 at 4:02 am #31968Hi Painted Horse:
I am a Williams. Mine were in Orange Co. and Burke Co., NC. Just thought we might compare some research notes. Did any of your Williams live in other places in NC or migrate to TN that you know of? Here’s my direct line:
Ambrose Williams (b. 1725) resided in:
Southampton VA near the Nottaway Circle Track – Brunswick Co., VA – Lunenburg Co., VA – Orange Co., NC & Burke Co., Greenville Co., SC
Robert Williams (b. 1770) resided in:
Orange Co., NC – somewhere on the Enoree River in SC – Warren Co., TN – Shelby Co., TN – St. Francois Co., MO
Thomas Davis Williams (b. 1802) resided in:
Warren-DeKalb Co., TN – St. Francois Co., MO – Fannin Co., Texas.
These migrations cover from 1725 to 1840. Anything after that probably would not be helpful to connect our lines.
I am sure I have lots of missing female Williams ancestors.

June 26, 2008 at 4:02 am #31975Hi Clydene,
The info I listed is all that I have on Margaret’s parents. Parents are buried in Wake County. Some of Maraget’s kids lived in Orange County. So far I haven’t figure out who Paton’s parents were.
I want to go to the archives in Raleigh to search marriage records to see what I come up with.
