Well, we have finally made the move to VA. Although we are still unloading the moving truck, we are nevertheless now residing back home in VA. My wife and I took 4 days to fill a 26′ UHaul front to back and top to bottom. In addition, we filled a 5X8′ trailer and attached it to the back of the UHaul. Kimberly (my wife) drove my F150 with the Harley securely strapped down in the bed.
When we got to Lumberton NC I saw a sign that said, “Lumbee Crafts” so I thought we would check it out but after following the signs instructions we never did see the crafts. I thought we might check in with the tribe and make a few contacts with them for genealogy info as the Cheraws were originally from the Danville VA area where I and my family are from, since their are two of my family surnames common among the tribe. Well, we never found the place and then had to get back on the road. Bummer!
June 13, 2008 at 9:54 pm #31736Where in Va are you? If you are anywhere near Danville then y’all should hop on that Harley and come on down to OBSN powwow sat. From Danville to Semora. Right on 119 and follow the signs. …. about 45 mins.
June 13, 2008 at 9:54 pm #31738Right now we are in the Petersburg area in the country where you have to have daylight pumped in. I’m loving it except for the Mayflies.

June 13, 2008 at 9:54 pm #31774I just got internet today. Actually about an hour ago. We are heading to Danville the morning of Sat the 21st My wife has been working graveyard shift at the hospital this week and is sleep deprived and grouchy. She looks forward to meeting everyone but this may not be the optimum time for it as she still hasn’t recovered from the move and has not adjusted to the new work hours. (Psssst!! She’s grouchy.)
