Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am trying to find out information about my great grandmother–Samantha Elizabeth Glover. My paternal grandfather told our family that Samantha was 1/4 Blackfoot indian. It is fairly evident that my grandfather and father have Native American ancestry by their coloring (black hair, dark eyes, high cheekbones, etc.). I have had some success tracing some of Samantha’s ancestry but nothing so far has given me any leads on the Native American ancestry.
Samantha’s family lived in these West Virginia counties–Tyler,
Monongalia, Wetzel, Doddridge, and Marion. The Glovers came to WV from Greene Co., PA and from Delaware before that.
Below is what I have been able to find so far:
Samantha’s father was Isaac Glover; her mother was Mary Catherine Myers.
Isaac’s father was William Glover; his mother was Elizabeth Pyles (Pile(s)). Isaac’s grandfather was Nehemiah Glover; grandmother was Tabitha Dorcas Koen.
Mary Catherine’s father was Tazwell/Taswell Myers; her mother was Delila Horner.
I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions as to what I might try next.

Hi, Lomor4, and Welcome to the Forum,
I’ll see what we can find but it may take a few days – I’m ‘buried’ in genealogy work.
