Hey Tech,

How far back have you gotten? Any “unknown”s? Your surname list isn’t familiar directly, but a couple of your names (Green and Potter) are included in the aforementioned Quarles family line. They seem to descend from Col. Thomas Bouldin who md Ann “Nancy” Wood Clark ca. 1731 in VA.

There are some fairly recent maiden names that I don’t know, as I’ve yet to find a marriage record. Then there are those who didn’t get married (at least not in the mainstream sense). We’re missing a whole limb of my paternal grandpa’s tree, as his mother was not married. Boy does that make it tough to follow the trail!

A few more of mine are BURNETT, RAKES, GARTH, and THORNHILL.

Clark marries into the Sinkey line which goes back to the Greens.

Green goes back to 1694 in MD. Potter goes back to just before the Rev.

Sparks, Shortridge, Baldwin (Balden, Bolden), Gibson, Adkins, Anderson, Hackney, Lacy, Landreth, Brown, , Bishop, Burnley, Daniel and Vail. This is all I know to date;all the names except Sparks are my paternal grandmother’s line. Sparks was my dad’s father and I know nothing of this line.

Hi Shirley,

I see you have the surname Lacy listed. My g g greatmother is Tammuxzena Elizabeth Lacy who my grandpa told me was either pamunkey or cherokee, I still don’t know yet. I have no parents or siblings for her or where she was born, just that she was born 1834 and married a, Joseph puckett 1850 in Chesterfield co Virginia. If you have any info on the Lacys to share that would be great
