That is interesting. I believe you are referring to the Eno-Occaneechi petition for regonition from 1990. Do you have a link to the names in the petition?

-MarcJanuary 10, 2023 at 4:17 pm #67019First Dirty Water Dan, I loved your story which sounds somewhat like mine. I am connected to Sneed also. What do you know about your Virginia ancestry?
And @MarcSnelling where can I find the names linked to the petition? I have googled but I’m not finding that.
Thanks for any helpJanuary 13, 2023 at 9:22 pm #67023I was asking Dirty Water Dan if he had a link too. I don’t. There is a transcript online from the July 26 2019 meeting of the North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs discussing it: https://files.nc.gov/ncdoa/Public-Hearing_Condensed-Transcript-of-7-26-19_Tuscarora-Nation-of-NC-2019_0726_MINI.pdf
February 22, 2023 at 12:11 am #67037Within the vicinity of the Bunch grants in Orange were also Holder cousins, sons of Susanna Bunch Holder. This older Susanna Bunch is a daughter of Paul Bunch. Her husband was named in Paul’s will as Thomas Holder along
with a Thomas Holdbee who was likely still Thomas Holder. Thomas and Susanna were in Norfolk, VA during the 1732 tax listing and possibly there during Paul’s death. Moved to Bertie county by 1735 along with some Bass and William Lovinia, who was on the 1732 tax list of Norfolk’s Westron Branch and later a neighbor of the Holders. The Holder in various records are also called Holden, Holderby, Holderby, Holdbee, etc.February 22, 2023 at 12:33 am #67038March 2, 2023 at 2:38 am #67072I heard from a Bunch cousin out of Kansas that contacted the Oconeechie. They told her that the only Bunch they recognize as Saponi are those two that were on grants, namely Jeremiah and Henry Jr in 1779. It does not matter who else was there, like the Holder cousins to Jeremiah. Thomas Holder Jr. was actually their before them. They assume only the mother of those two were Saponi. Assume!! And assume that their father was just black and white. False assumption get you know where. Research has shown that their assumptions are false. Like the Bunch that went to South Carolina that was in the Racoon Company of Marion’s Raiders as Cheraws (Saponi), with Gideon Bunch Jr., who likely is a cousin, I know his wife is my cousin. That is, Henry’s nephews and other close kin, and are part of the Peedee tribe.
