Well winter has really set in here on the high northern plains/ subarctic, zone, our day time high is -40 with the wind, great !
This coming week we should be back into the single digit lows !
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13082Tom,
I guess you can get used to that cold but I’m dreading the +9 it’s supposed to get to soon!!
I lived in Minnesota one year and another in Chicago and that was I think the coldest with the wind off of Lake Michigan.
And thanks for the b-day wish!

January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13083Tom…Do me a favor…keep that cold up there. My old body just couldn’t stand that drop in temperature.
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13121Tom,
I hope you have a dog or two around there! They make great bed warmers! Have lots of Hot Chocolate and Cider, and Hot tang and Hot Dr. Pepper with a cinnamon stick in it for me! For some reason I don’t care much for sweet drinks anymore. I used to love them, but now there like syrup. But all that sugar, if it doesn’t keep you warm, you’ll stay warm by running to the “terlet” every 10 minutes or so!:) Love Ya’, Stay Warm. Lynella.
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13136Hello All well this am it was -50 below! That is with the wind chill, but life still goes on, sort of!
Monday we’re looking at plus temp’s and tuesdayabout 35 above zero , wednesday it’s supposed to rain! Go figure!
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13143And thanks for sharing this, Tom. Record lows coming tonight. Two days ago, it was 60 degrees. Night before last, we had thunder and lightening and hail. Crazy weather. January in Wisconsin is not supposed to be 60 with hail. I have seen thunder snow before but can’t remember a January thunderstorm.
BTW, some of your Hardins settled north of me in Racine, right? There was a story in the Kenosha paper about a Hardin from Kenosha (10 miles south of Racine) who gave up two tickets to the Green Bay Packer playoff game to a terminally ill boy from Texas. The Packers got the Hardin family another 2 tickets and feted the 4 of them, the boy, his mother, Hardin and his son to lunch with the Packers before the game. The boy got a locker put together for him next to his idol, the quarterback, Brett Favre, who has lost a couple family members himself. The boy was also given a jersey with his name and a number and was given an honorary position on the Packers. Both my husband and I were wiping our eyes.

Mother Nature is doing what she’s been telling us she was going to! Your weather sounds as fickle as Colorado’s! Love & Light, Lynella.
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13152Hello Girls! well my old pup didn’t think too much of this cold, but later on this coming week we’ll be going for our 3 block walks, after 14 years my pups wearing down and well he’s getting old!
The Hardins sound just like th rest of us up here pretty generous when the time calls for it! One day I’d like to call some of those Hardin folks! Thanx for that by the way!
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13168What kind of pup? I bet it’s cute! old dogs have the personalities of really sweet old people. Gotta’ Love Em’.:) Give it a kiss from Colorado for me. Lynella.
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #1317540 below Tom — ouch?? That’s not very hot. Last week it was in the upper sixties and temp will be about 10 above by dawn. Next week it’ll be in the 60s again — we go through this all winter long . . . It’s like Canada has a leak and keeps draining down here all winter long.
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13176Well, Vance,
🙂 That’s not fair! Even we don’t get that! I don’t think we got out of the 30’s up here today and the wind was just bitter. How about you send some of that heat mt way! All Bailey would be grateful. 😉 Love & Light, Lynella.
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13197Lynella, last 3 days we haven’t got out of the 20s! I’ll trade your 30s (for a day we are about 10) in exchange for one of our 40s next week. I’m gonna hang on to the 60s for now.

January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13203Just got back from Sarasota, Florida and an annual convention for my Union……it was sunny the day before I arrived, will be sunny again tomorrow, but was cloudy and rainy my whole time there.
Of course……when I left Florida this morning it was in the 50’s and when I got home to Ohio it was 20 and snowing, so I guess it was pretty good weather down there after all.
Had to take a “puddle jumper” from Sarasota to Tampa (lots of fun & a great view), then Tampa to Cleveland and Cleveland to Columbus. Can’t figure out why I always have to go North before going South……
We flew right over the Appalachians, it was beautiful!!
January 12, 2005 at 6:17 pm #13204Patty,
🙂 Glad you’re back safe and sound. I’m sorry the weather didn’t cooperate. I guess none of us have an ideal weather pattern this time of year. Oh, I bet those Appalachians are beautiful. Sorry I missed that. I flew in a puddle jumper once from Dallas across the gulf & landed in Orlando. I hated it. It scared the begeebeez right out of me!;) Love & Light, Lynella.
