Many of us on this list have an attached photo or cartoon accompanying
our messages and public profiles.
I don’t have the equipment to scan a photo over to Saponitown. So I have
2 ?s:
1) Is there a P.O. Box for Saponitown to which one could mail a photo?
2) What are some websites one could go to to import cartoon avatars?
Thanks!
Roca
P.S.-I’m hoping to get out some next spring and summer.Maybe I’ll meet some of you at various events!

I have found the easiest way to add photos is to use an image hosting site such as photobucket (free). Then all you have to do is upload your photo to the image hosting site (photobucket) and copy and paste to Saponitown (using the attachment tool on the tool bar). It is really quite easy, especially if I can do it; hope this helps.

November 11, 2006 at 4:05 pm #23578Roca, Send me a private e-mail. I will see if I can help you.:)
November 11, 2006 at 4:05 pm #23581The P.O. Box for Saponitown is P.O. Box 222, Clarksville, VA 23927
Any image you can get onto your hard drive can be uploaded to this site. You just browse like normal to the location of the image and it will get zapped up into the forum’s image directory.
November 11, 2006 at 4:05 pm #23603Within a day after starting this thread,my printer blew.I’ve had it for 4
years and it was “pre-owned” even then.I’m considering a dual (print or
scan) or all-purpose (print, scan, fax) machine unlike this one that blew, which
could only print.
Thanks for your offers of help!:) I’ll see how it goes in the upcoming weeks and if I’m still having trouble,I’ll take you up on your offer(s).

Sorry, I was not much help. I never thought I would ever go digital, but I have found it is a great way to save photos. So if you do choose to get a new printer, one with a scanner would be money well invested, especially if you are like me and have boxes of photos. There are sooo many options out there.
Blessings,
Shirley

November 11, 2006 at 4:05 pm #23645I’m actually new to this as well.. But I think on the upper left hand side of the screen, on some pages is Edit Picture Photo… click on that… then hit the Browse Button to locate what picture You want to upload…

If you have a picture that you can email to Linda Carter at sissapaha .at. saponitown.com, requesting that she crop as necessary & upload it to your profile, I think she would do that.

I think she was born in 1859 in TN I think and all I know is her dad was Toby Mathis. I have seen her last name as Mathews. I guess when the ancestorsn are ready they will let me know. Interestly I took your research you gave me and took it further and found out my GG Grandma (Blackfoot) Sarah Frances Fine Palmers husband Benjamin Marion Palmer was 1/32 Cherokee.
