Sue,
You and your father look so much alike, thanks for sharing. The same is true with my father and I. My grandma (I never had the chance to meet her) said if my father would shave we would be look-a-likes. He is a picture of my grandama and father. I think I shared this before…I am not sure…

November 11, 2006 at 4:05 pm #25491Regarding regalia I just made it to this nice site today. These are awsome and reasonably priced. I like choosing the styles with less Colonial influence.

Wachinika,
Thanks for sharing the link, I really appreciate the original dress (pre-European influence). It makes me appreciate our ancesters skills and the time and talent needed to create such a dress. I visited the Denver museum a few years ago; I saw some dresses, oh the beadwork, it was unbelievable. It just made me wonder about the care and pride that went into everything, from the kill to tanning and sewing and making beads…I don’t have enough time to get everything done now, with all of our conveniences…I like that every piece was art and great pride went into everything…it reflected who they were and that meant a lot…to bad it is not so true today.:(

You do look like your Dad too! Thanks for the compliment.
That is an interesting link Wachinika. Back to the compliment…….I think both of you and Erica too are very pretty. And many more of the family here. I love to see the family photos. Wish everyone would participate if they can. I’m in danger of rambling now because I’m excited about photobucket and creating an album. This would be a great way for us to link each other to our photos. Saj
November 11, 2006 at 4:05 pm #25505The link she posted is Chief Jim and Kim’s website. The pow wow that they had last year was very interesting….a funnel cloud on Friday night and a beautiful day on Saturday. They are great folks to know and we had a terrific time there. And we hope to return this year.
But, I would use caution is buying regalia, it needs to be suited to each person’s taste…and it should be very personalized with meaning for each item. JMHO
