This thread spans six years in time, so I’m not sure how many of these folks are still tuned in at the moment. If there’s no response, Ida, remind me and I’ll see who I can scare up.
Hi Beth, I hope you are still on here. I am trying to find my Jones family. We know they are Saponi/Blackfoot. There was never no picture of him, or any information on him what so ever. I hope you can answer back and let me know dates on these people. Thank you.

need help appears either Vines or Thomas may have a daughter by the name of Sarah Frances “Fanny” Guy born around 1827 in Cherokee Co Ga. As the children stayed with the Burnett’s as part of their raising. I can not find proper documentation. The Burnett’s have a family site and they list that Thomas was born in 1825, but I doubt very much that Elizabeth and Vines waited 20 years to have 1 child. Which means that either Thomas was born earlier than Burnett’s state and his daughter could be our fanny (doubtful as her mother was given as Marion Guy) or Something happened to Elizabeth and Vines married another woman and Fannie is the product of that marriage or Elizabeth’s middle name is Marion and Fannie is the daughter of Vines and Elizabeth. Anybody who can fill us in on this would be great help.
I also would like to make note that all information stating Vines married Elizabeth Jefferies appears to be incorrect. go to http://files.usgwarchives.org/nc/orange/vitals/grooms2.txt which has the archive list for Vines marrying Elizabeth Harper in 1805 in Orange Co Jan. 8th.

In my files, I have that Thomas was born ca1825, but his birthdate fluctuated from 1822-1830. In the 1860 census, he was 35. In 1870, he was 40. In 1880, he was 58. In the 1900 census, it said “don’t know” for age. His death record in 1901 said that he was “about 75 years”.
Thomas did have a daughter named Fanny. She was listed with him in the 1880 census when she was 16 (b. ca1864).
The marriage info on that link stated above (post#18) for Vines and Elizabeth may be a transcription error or a copy/paste error as the marriage underneath it is a Harper. It should be Elizabeth Jeffers. I have a copy of the record and it says Jeffers.

Vines was still married to Elizabeth when his will was proved in court in May 1836. Elizabeth, his wife, was one of the executors of his will. It stated Elizabeth “to raise my children”, but it goes on to say names and number of children not stated as all seem to be minors.
