Hello All, I have heard that the iroquois have an alligator dance, has anyone heard opf this , my question is where did they get it from, BTA, Tom
From our ancestor’s relatives who went up north! Do you think they have alligators in Upper NY State? But when I checked the Saxapaha, NC website, they were talking about an alligator in the Haw!
Me and my girls know how to sing an Alligator song and I’ve seen it done once. We haven’t tried the dance yet, though.
Hello Linda, no I don’t think that the iroqouis have alligators, I have heard that even north GA, shouldn’t have them but they do!
I would like to hear this song if you could send me a casstte of it, where did you learn this song? Is it from the Tutelo?
BTA Tom.
The following is from the Saxapahaw, NC town website. http://www.saxapahaw.com/community.shtml
Pictured above is the reptile that has drawn regional attention to Saxapahaw, North Carolina. On May 24, 2001 the Herald-Sun reported that NC Wildlife biologists had finally managed to capture the critter and relocate him in a remote swamp in Brunswick County.
I WILL go to the post office tomorrow and send you that tape.
