Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
American Nomads – by Emily Stovell is a work of historical fiction about families who migrated west based on real people. There is a genealogy section in the back that includes some of my ancestors. Some of their descendants married families identified as Saponi descendants here. My ancestors in this book are Kyukendall, Van Etten, and Westfall. These lines later married into my Coppock/Bayley/Miller/Pontius lines.
There are about twenty pages of genealogy in the back that includes names similar to some I have seen here before. The other names are Cartwright, Ping, Cool, Sinks, Brink, Smith, and Tack. Sinkey and Cooley are names I’ve seen in this forum before like in this thread that discusses if the Sink name is related to Sinkey : Christian Band of Saponi Indians.
Wondering if the names mentioned in this book are anyone else’s ancestors here?
