Hello, Everyone, I went to the Union in Frankfort, KY last week and found a reference to the name Madox, if of Indian heritage, being from Machadoc area of Westmoreland County VA. I had not seen the book by Pat Spurlock Elder before and was stunned. I had been looking for so many years and researching soo many Maddox/Mattox/Madox/etc…families…
I have been told the family is Cherokee by the family’s papers. A Chief told me we are Powhatan. I have been looking for documentation or siblings, anything to reconstruct her family (Elizabeth A. Madox, b 12 Oct 1797 in VA).
The footnote reads,” Mattox/Maddox may be related to Jarvis and Dodson. See Roundtree, Pocahonta’s People, p 122 and n. 277. In 1654 Gervase Dodson, a surveyor of Indian lands and a major landowner, owned the land surrounding upper Machodoc Creek in Westmoreland County. Machodoc is rendered Mattox in some cases and Gervase is rendered Jarvis. Roundtree cites James H. Merrell as saying that names similar to Mattox indicating varied tribal origins in later American Indian groups have been recorded in the Carolina Piedmont.”
Roundtree, Helen C. Pocahontas’ People. The Powhatan Indians of VA through four centuries. Norman OK: U of OK, 1989.
Elizabeth A. Madox married Aaron W. Hawkins. They lived Anderson Co TN until 1818, when they left for the Yellow Banks (Owensborough KY). They lived Daviess and Ohio Counties all their lives. Aaron died 1864 and Elizabeth 1877. I descend from their oldest daughter, Mahala.
Aaron’s YDNA came out I1b, J J2. When his 3rd great grandfather sailed into Maryland in 1651 out of New England he was a Quaker. Before England the family was Scot. The Jewish (J, J2) came in when the Jews came to Scotland, before England…Many of the first European settlers in the Carolina Piedmont were of Jewish and Moor extraction using Scot and Scot Irish as a cover to avoid problems with the English. Many were Baptist, Primitive Baptist and Quakers. These people were also part of the Melungeon mix. See Elizabeth Caldwell Hirschman’s book for details.
I thought I would post this in case it may help someone. This is such a long road… Jeanne
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15836What is the name of that book?
I’ve heard others say the Melungeons and others who think they are “part Indian” were really Jews, but I personally am very skeptical of this. The Goins surname could be Jewish (Cohen), but the other surnames are not.
Jeanne, there is virtual proof that at least some Melungeons were Saponi. Families asked to leave — was it Culpepper County? — some where near there — families called “Saponi — can be traced directly to the Melungeon community — Gibson’s and Collinses.

I have been told the family is Cherokee by the family’s papers.

what documentation do you have of Cherokee ancestry?

How do you know this? is it from that book you mention?
thanks.

August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15841I’d Like to know this too. I descend from Sarah Maddox of Westmoreland County, Va. She married Thomas Robbins. She died April 29, 1809 in Edgecombe County, NC and just like Vance I have Hawkins in my family too.
I also know my grandfather who was Scottish and lived in NC was not Jewish. You see Jews don’t look like Vikings and Vikings settled much of Scotland and my grandfather was a big mountain of a man well over 6ft tall and when he spoke it sounded like it was coming from his feet…..the man was a Scottish Viking. Vance his grandmother was a Ruthven/Ruffin and I’ve told you the story of that family.

August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15862Hello, The name of the book about the Jews in the Melungeon mix is “Melungeons, The Last Lost Tribe in America” by Elizabeth Caldwell Hirschman. It will explain a lot about the Jewish element.
My ancestor Elizabeth A. Madox married Aaron W. Hawkins in 1814. They lived in Anderson County, TN until ca 1818, when they left for the Yellow Banks. Aaron Hawkins’ ancestor John Hawkins sailed into MD in 1651 out of New England. This Hawkins YDNA is I1b. Now bear with me – it traces from England, back to Scotland, to Vikings (Danes), to J and J2 Haplogroup. The J2 Haplogroup is where the Cohanim (priestly caste of the Jews) is found. The Jews were brought into Scotland to put it onto sound footing after Robert the Bruce. Robert the Brice was Jewish.
The John Hawkins that sailed into Maryland out of New England (Skordas) had a son, Matthew Hawkins. He married two times. The first time to Ann Parrish and the second time to her sister, Mary. I descend from Mary Parrish and Matthew Hawkins. Matthew died ca 1705. He had a daughter, Rebecca, who was born ca 1704. Rebecca was raised by her Uncles which was the wish of her father in his will. In 1722, she gave birth to Nathan Hawkins.
Nathan Hawkins had a son, Matthew who had a son Aaron, who is my ancestor who married Elizabeth Madox.
This line is proven through YDNA through the father of Nathan who matches the YDNA of Rebecca Hawkins Uncles, brothers, and cousins. Jews marry uncles and 1st cousins. This was necessary to be able to keep their identity a secret.
Many of the Jews were Primitive Baptists and Quakers because they were easy religions to use as a cover.
Now then. How do I know I am Cherokee. (I suspect Powhatan.) Elizabeth and Aaron had a daughter, Mahala. Mahala married James McGray who was on the boat with Lt. Harris. See The River Road. (Part of the Removal) There was a census taken of the people on the boat and James is on it. He didn’t go all the way to the other side of the Mississippi. He is on the boat in 1834-35 and in 1836 he is in Ohio County KY in jail for “Enticing away a slave”. (He was only 14 or 15 years of age at the time) He was found innocent at a jury trial. He married Mahala in 1844 in Ohio County KY, Old Panther Creek Church Records.
In 1859, James and Mahala decided to move across the Ohio River into Posey County, the town of Mt. Vernon, IN. By 13 Feb 1863, James is dead and does not leave a widow. The children are declared indigent orphans and “given out” to families. (Lawyers descended upon the hapless children, sold their effects and pocketed the money as fees for their service) Their oldest daughter, Elizabeth, was given to a Hessian family, Johannes and Katarina Becker, where she served as a servant to them. She ended up marrying their oldest son, Wilhelm Georg, and they were disowned.
Their oldest son/child, John, is my dad’s grandfather. John’s youngest brother, Herman, married Gereva Bryant. It was in her house that I found the papers that said Elizabeth McGray/McCray was Cherokee. Having been disowned, she and her husband were extremely poor, they did not have a bible. I do have a picture of her. (My mother’s physical therapist says she looks Turk. He is Egyptian) A description of her: black hair, black eyes, no lips, epicanthal eye lids, round face, 4’8″ tall, tiny.
James and Mahala appear to have been murdered. Their daughter, Margaret, was given to the family of Johannes and Katarina Becker’s daughter and her husband, John Hendricks. John Hendricks was murdered for having the black girl in his house. There was a trial and the perp was given 5 years hard labor at the Jeffersonville Prison.
I hope I have answered your questions. If I haven’t done a good job of it, ask me again, sometimes I am dense! Note: about the Collins and Mullins. I forgot who it was, but it was a Collins or Mullins who brought a diorama of his family to the Union and he is a spitting image of my brother. Really unbelieveable.
Hope you understand this. It is interesting about the Scots, huh? Jeanne
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15863Hi,
Please consider this in the spirit of friendship and friendly debate. I have no desire to argue, but I have a hard time with some of what you said.
That was interesting. Thank oyu for sharing it. But the part I don’t understand is how these Scottish Vikings were also Jewish. I have never heard anyone else say that Hawkins was a Jewish surname. If you can get me over that hump . . . :). I am doing the Hawkins DNA test so soon I’ll know something about how my Hawkins family fits into the mix. Dad said he was told they came to America from Ireland. I’ll look what you said up on the DNA page for the Hawkins family. I do not recall it saying anything about discovering that the Hawkinses were Jewish however, and that is something I would have recalled.
If something is “hidden” or a “cover”, how was that “secret uncovered” so that Ms Hirschman was able to “recover” it? If Jews were accepted from the time of Robert the Bruce as you said, what was it necessary to use a “cover” at all? What proof do you have that Robert the Bruce was Jewish? If you are going to make such claims, please be willing to provide proof. Please know extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs. I can not help but be skeptical. The idea of a “secret” or a “cover” can be an explanation, but it can also be an excuse for a lack of physical evidence. Maybe I need to read the book — I too can be dense at times. 🙂
you said —
It was in her house that I found the papers that said Elizabeth McGray/McCray was Cherokee.
reply —
What kind of papers did you find? It could be very important. I do a lot of Cherokee research (I have a Chickamauga research board where I encourage accurately documenting claims) and I am always encouraging people to find information in unusual places.
thanks

August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15865Hi Vance, First of all, look on the Hawkins dna page. There is only one line that is I1b. That is the one I belong to. I had two males submit their YDNA. I then had a SNP done on them. Not every male of the same line will have all the markers. That is why so many people who are looking at a line will have several brothers or cousins also submit the cheek cells. One of my males showed the J and with the SNP he showed the J2. Now I am curious if the Cohanim will be present if I have another further test done. I am thinking I will talk to Bennett Greenspan (familytree.dna)about having this done if it will show me if my male Hawkins line is from Aaron – that is the priestly caste of Jews. I am just curious.
I heard Elizabeth Hirschman give a talk at the Melungeon Union. This is where she was talking about the Jews being used to establish Banking and stability and such in newly conquered countries. Please read her book because it sheds light on many many things. Elizabeth Hirschman uses dna and migrations in her book and, also, family practices and foods, and their preparation.
The Elizabeth McCray/McGray’s “papers” were diaries of a daughter relating to her relationship with her mother teaching her to recognize the call of birds and the recognition of “wild” things to eat. There were letters from her sister, Margaret, who sent her things because she was so poor. (Margaret married an older man). There were letters from the children of her brother, James. These children I have not been able to find any descendants of. They are in the possession of her granddaughter who is just a little older than me, would you believe. That is because I descend from the oldest son and she descends from the youngest son who married very late in life. Her father’s mother, Elizabeth McGray is her grandmother. The same woman is my gr, gr, grandmother.
The older ones in the family were all very aware that she was Cherokee and said so. They were also very protective of the fact and would not tolerate anything being said negatively about it. I had no idea until I started digging and ran into the “conspiracy of silence”. I was told not to ever say anything of the sort. These people protected this and were very uncomfortable with my questions. The brother of Wilhelm, Arnold Becker, had a family who also told me about her. For generations we did not know each other, nor did we communicate. They were disowned – Elizabeth McGray and Wilhelm Georg Becker – they did not exist anymore. But, here, we are! We’re back!
My dad was drilled about being “German”. Always German. We are German. I don’t think everyone realizes that it was not healthy to admit to being anything but WASP. The Eugenics movement in the 1920’s was devastating to anyone who could not pass as WASP. How many people realize that W. A. Placker’s picture was in Adolph Hitler’s office? They were like minded. Hitler wanted to kill all the Jews, Catholics, Poles, etc… and W. A. Placker wanted to rid the state of VA of anyone who had even a hint of color. That included a lot of people – East Indians, Turks, Moors, Berbers, Italians, Native Americans, etc… There was some sterilization, incarceration, and such to try to keep “undesirables” out of the gene pool in the state of VA.
I ramble. I hope I have helped to answer your questions. Jeanne
P.S. After the diaspora, the Jews went to Spain and Portugal among other places. When Spain and Portugal conquered other countries, they imported their banking people to get things in order, as did England and France. I believe Elizabeth Hirschman said it was France that brought the Jews to Normandy to get it in order after the conquering was done. That’s when the Jews came. The Jews kept moving about, they had to, they were also useful because of their contacts to the countries they found themselves in. (I hope I have not upset you, I just keep looking. What I am, I am, and am glad that I am. What I am glad that I am not, is not what I am.) Jeanne
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15866Vance and Jeanne,
This what I have learned in my history research on things that surrounded my families. Robert the Bruce does in fact decsend from the Mervingian Kings (as do I). These kings are reported to decsend from the Tribe of Benjamin of the Old Testament times. So yes Robert the Bruce had a small, small amount of Jewish blood but he was 8 centuries removed from these Mervingian Kings. So one cannot just outright say Robert the Bruce was Jewish. He was a Scot and a king. To claim people were “hiding” something is stretching it a bit without proof if there is proof of this cover up and not just speculation then I would love to see it. I would also like to know what you know about the Maddox’s of Westmoreland Couty Virginia’

August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15872Hello, You would have to read Elizabeth Hirschman’s book to do her justice. I am sure I have not done her justice.
What I know about Maddox’s of Westmoreland Co VA. Bits and pieces (too busy to do research): Alexander Maddox, b 1613 came from England in 1635 to VA. Sibling = Rice. Thomas was the father of Alexander and Rice, also spelled Rhys, was Welsh. R1 Haplogroup.
Northumberland Co VA Record Book 1656 Rice Maddox of County of Westmoreland..Doctor of Phisick…Richard Maddocke mentioned 1660…Rice Maddocke, 1649…Rice Maddocks of Nominy, Chyrurgin…Samuel Maddocke 1656…
In Pat Spurlock Elders’ book, there is mention of the surname “Maddox” and all its variants being from the Machodoc Creek/River area. The name was traced into all it’s variations down through VA. through time. I have not gotten her book yet, but intend to. What it says, she pulls information from other researchers and authors, is that it was a surname, an Indian surname. It also is a European surname. Too bad we don’t have snapshots of these people when they made records. Just dreaming.
I am chasing a female Madox born 1797 in VA. I have mtdna matches who are in the Wise County VA area about the time of Elizabeth’s birth. My Madox could have been there at the time, and maybe not. I just need a place to search. I have already, when I had the time, looked into various counties and families in VA and come up empty. I very well could be looking for aEuropean Madox who married my female and she became a Madox and had my ancestor…or I could be looking for an Indian Madox… Jeanne
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15875My Maddox’s definitely came from the Westmoreland area Northumberland is not far from there. I think my Sarah Maddox descends from Lazrus Maddox from this I believe they were the European Maddox’s from Wales. They were also at one time in Somerset County Md. The name Rhys is Welsh…I have heard the name Price comes from Rhys so historians believe the Price’s are Welsh. I also have a Price line. I have Maddox, Llewellyn, Price(Rhys) and Wynne out of Wales. All of these names are from my maternal grandmother who was also Nottoway and Saponi. My maternal grandfather was the Scottish Viking his family hails from Perthshire, Scotland they are Clan Ruthven, Scottish nobility. Through several marriages his family descends from William the Conquerer. My paternal grandfather was a Davenport they came from Cheshire, England and where Lords of the Manor…within his lines I also have some more Scottish relatives. My paternal grandmother was Scottish (Lowlanders) from the border of Scotland and England apparently they caused alot of problems for the English kings along the border so they were rounded up and shipped off to Ireland to tend the farms the English crown had taken from the Irish. As you can see I am mostly Scottish. Clan Ruthven motto: deeds show… . . and Little family motto: there is much in Little….Davenport: Fear God. I know very little of my Welsh ancestors no one in the family seemed to think they were important…see I was always told I was Scottish, English and Indian….and most of all a southerner. When I married the first time I married a man from New York my family about went through the roof…..I heard you are going to bring a damn Yankee into our mist? As it turned out it was a huge mistake and he told me after our divorce that he’d never marry another southerner again 😉 but yet he retires in my beautiful Virginia….go figure.

August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15880There is only one reference to MADDOX in Pat Spurlock Elder’s book “Melungeons: Examining an Appalachian Legend”.
refering to Tennessee, on page 73:
“The 1830 Cocke County census shows many names found in mixed-blood groups. Most, however, are also found among immigrant white familes. Cocke County’s mixed-blood surnames are Bass, Bibay, maybe Bowling (which is indexed as Billings and not Bowling), Carter, Dennis, Gann, Hall, Holt, Lucus, Maddox, Manar, More, Nichols, Odell, Partin, Stuart, and Talley. The mixed blood families are probably Cherokee or Catawba. A few may be from long-ago adopted tribes. The absence of Bunch, Collins, Gibson, and Goins is obvious.”
The only other possible spelling variation that I see in Elder’s book is on page 30, which refers to the probably mythical “Prince Madoc” of Wales and refers the reader to a book which is “an excellent debunking of the Madoc tale”.
An interview quoted on pages 74 & 75 with Lewis Jarvis is instructive:
“Much has been said and written about the inhabitants of Newman’s Ridge and Blackwater in Hancock County, Tenn. They have been derisively dubbed with the name “Melungeons” by the local white people who have lived here with them.” (Jarvis goes on to refute the claim that they were there when the first white settlers arrived.)
“Melungeon” was a name applied to these particular Indian people by whites, much like the word “Nigger” was applied to Black people, and as such, is also extremely prejudical and particularly offensive.

August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15882Hello, Thanks, Bill, I realize this. My Madox was in the right place, I do not know about the right time. She says she was born in 1797 in VA. I know the Melungeon extended families were not thought to be there in the 1760’s when the first Europeans came, or I have not found them in the Fincastle Co VA corner area at that time. I guess the thing that keeps running back into my mind is the old family record, her picture, and her mtdna, which is Siddi. I have not a clue how a young woman would be there when she was and with a record of being Cherokee.
She married 1814 to Aaron Hawkins, b 1793 in TN – family bible. Aaron had a brother who gave the land Dan Maddox was living on to him in Anderson Co TN. in 1811. I have no identifying information on Dan except that he never, and I mean never, showed up for road orders. (And, the sheriff never went after him for the no-show) I have checked all the records of Anderson, Roane and Morgan Cos. (they lived on the east fork of Poplar Creek) and have come up dry. Also, Knox Co. I have seen all the stuff on Wilson and Dan of Shelby Co KY. I have not seen any connection. I have seen a possible connection between Elizabeth Madox and Nelson Maddux of Daviess and Ohio Cos, KY. where Elizabeth and her husband, Aaron settled 1818. Nelson had a son, Tapley, who signed Elizabeth Madox’s husband’s Bounty Land Warrant in the 1850’s. Nelson had a son, Daniel. I have not been able to find the parents of Nelson, either. However, I believe he had a brother, Preston, b 1807 in VA, because of their in-laws and other relatives living in each other’s households.
I believe William, Nelson and Preston Maddux living in Ohio Co KY in the 1850’s are brothers. Nelson came to Ohio Co KY from Shelby Co KY. He was born 1801 in VA. These are my best suspects. Thanks much, Jeanne
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15908:confused:
Hello. I’m new here (only joined a few days ago), but I’m quite puzzled. I was under the impression that this was a forum for the discussion of our heritage as native americans (Saponi) as well as the other actual bloodlines that make us up (white/black).
However, it seems a great deal of the discussions here are about the theoretical “melungeons”. According to what I’ve read on this forum tonight, these so-called melungeons aren’t even claiming to have Saponi blood. What I’m reading is about Scottish/Jewish/Vikings?? Jewish Quakers?
Again, the word “melungeon” is just another term for “mixed” like mestizo, mulatto, quadroon, etc. Why do these writers (Dr. Kennedy, Hirschman, etc) want so desperately to believe the improbable and even impossible? Why can’t us “melungeons”, or mixed race people be what we are, people who are mixed with Indian, Black and northwestern European whites like English, Welsh, Scotish and Irish? It’s a solid, proven fact that immigrants came from the British Isles en masse and settled in Virginia, North Carolina and the rest of the 13 original colonies. No one can dispute that. However, what actual PROOF (not speculation) is there of all of the Jews from Portugal, Spain, Morocco and other countries who somehow got over here 400 years ago, THEN somehow took the surnames of British/Scottish immigrants and then somehow disappeared into the wilds of TN and KY?
Actually, this whole melungeon issue is no different that what the Mormons teach and believe as fact (although it has ZERO scientific, anthropological or archeological proof). What they believe goes right along with the title of the book Jeanne quoted, “Melungeons, The Last Lost Tribe in America”. Ask ANY Mormon, and they will explain how a lost tribe of Israel (by the way, there are no LOST tribes of Israel. The 12 tribes became the northern 10 tribes and the southern 2 tribes) came to the US right after Jesus died. THEN, Jesus came BACK to earth to what is now the US so he could preach to these people.
These “lost tribes” had great cities in the US, some with over 1,000,000 people in them. They build temples “larger than the temple of Solomon”. They had huge gold coins to use as money that were over 3 feet in diameter. YET, as any sane person knows, there is NO proof of any of that! In fact, I’ve talked to Mormons that feel that native Americans here in the US today are just the children of those lost tribes of Israel.
Now, just because they believe that, and write books about it and have a world wide religion about it doesn’t ever make that true, right? Why hasn’t anyone found even ONE of these 3′ coins or even a trace of a city that had a temple larger than Solomon’s and 1,000,000 residents in this country? For one reason… it never happened!
There is probably the same amount of proof for these Jewish and Portuguese “melungeon” claims. Everything I’ve read, EVERYTHING, is just speculation and unfounded claims.
With all that said, I thoroughly enjoy coming to this forum and sharing knowledge. I joined it because as a person who has Pompey, Jeffries, Archer, Dungey and other ancestors from Brunswick, Southampton and Hertford counties, I KNOW that I have blood from the Saponis. I know I have blood in me from children of African slaves brought here from Africa. I know because of appearance, skin color and surnames, I have blood from white Europeans from England, Wales and Scotland. However, I can never be convinced because of the writings of a few confused people that some group of Jews, Portuguese or similar are what made me who I am.
I hope this forum tries to stay on what it was hopefully designed for. The title is Saponitown – so it obviously was meant to foster discussions between people who can trace their ancestors back to those people, and the others they mixed with.
Thank you for the opportunity to say my feelings, and I’m happy to see others like Vance feel the same way (even if you are more diplomatic about it than me! 😀 )
Tommy
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15919You are very direct Tommy…one thing I wanted to say to you though. I can tell you aren’t a southerner just by some things you say but if you were I believe you’d understand why your Archer’s hung up on you. I would not have hung up on you but my folks would have….you see back in the times of my parents and their parents before them if you appeared to be anything but “white” you were sent to the inferior schools (It’s sad but true). So it was just best to try to pass as white for the sake of your children. In Hertford County there were no Indian schools so all the Indians were forced to go to the black schools and let me tell you I have heard some horror stories how they were constantly picked on….called stuff like ” Breed” “half Breed” among other things. Now I don’t know about you but I would not care to be called a breed. It was meant as a insult just because they were different. Now it’s no wonder the Archer’s hung up on you when you claimed decsent from the very people who tortured them through childhood. Now it’s true many of these people are tri racial but not all of them. Some tack and sensitivity when dealing with these people would not hurt you. BTW I am Nottoway and my roots are in Hertford and Southhampton Counties but my family moved into Halifax and Edgecombe counties. I grew up in a mixed family in the south and my generation was much more fortunate then the ones before me. But I heard the horror stories from my mother and her siblings….they went to white schools but even the white children approached them and asked why do you look so different…what are you? They were warned by their mother(my grandmother) not to tell the children who asked because they might have to change schools. This was life in the south until the 1960″s.
Linda
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15921You are right. I’m very direct, although I never try/want to/intend to hurt anyone. I’m also definitely NOT from the south. I was born and raised in Michigan. My ancestors came to Cass County from VA/NC/TN between 1847 and 1855. So, my “colored” family had a basically blessed life living among Quakers and other non-racist whites. My ancestors were going to school with white kids since they arrived, mind you, this was while slavery was still in full force in the south. They owned nice homes, businesses, and HUGE 200 – 500 acre farms!
Also, my one ancestor that was a slave until he was 9 years old in Nottoway County, VA was THE richest man in Calvin Township Michigan in 1902 (see the book, “History of the Great Lakes”). There was an article by Booker T. Washington in that book about his 1902 visit to Cassopolis. He details the lives of the “colored” residents in Cass, and discusses about their past from VA/NC. Most of the people who are on this forum have relatives that lived in Cass at one time or another.
So, as you might imagine, I never had to deal with the southern racism, bigotry and craziness that people of color had to deal with down there. Don’t get me wrong though, I have been called a “nigger” more than once, as white as I am, IN Michigan!
However, I will have Linda remove my previous posting about my feelings on the whole “melungeon” issue. I did not join this forum to upset people or provoke anger, and I’m sorry if I hurt ANYONE’S feelings. I guess it’s just my “northern” straightforwardness. By the way, I lived in the south from 1988-1996, and it’s not the first time I heard that I was a little too “direct” 😀
Sorry! And Linda, when you read this, could you please just remove my “dissertation” posting? Thanks,
Tommy
August 5, 2005 at 1:09 am #15923Tommy I thought your dissertation was great That is the great thing about Saponitown! Soooo many different perspectives from one people the Decendants of Our Ancestors.
I think sometimes the whole topic of the mixed bloods being Jewish, Potugese, Israeli ect. gets alittle out of hand, and that is not to offend anyone, it’s just that WE ARE INDEGENOUS TO THIS LAND.
I appreciate your candor, you remind me of my drum brothers!
Sometimes we just get caught up, trying to retrace our roots and find the truth. WE ALL WANT THE TRUTH
