let me start with MY Smith line was at least part native up to very high blooded. But know the least about that line. mostly it could have been a native male line and I could give lots of reason why I think so but won’t . I never met my moms father .. she never met her father , I don’t think. all my older cousins met him and knew him well and all say he was Native American.. I traced his lines and they appear to be all at least part bloods to high blooded. for sure on the female sides and maybe on the direct male side. This line is where all my Walkers are hiding with lots of other native names.
OK I have looked for a very long time to find a Smith line that would be my grandpa’s smith line so I could see what his cousins and his direct offspring would look like.
a line that would provide my mom’s phenotype and about 20% of both mine and my sisters .. and we look nothing alike. so it had to have certain traits .
SO I think I found one that works for what I needed.
ON the program Tiny ( the small home movement ) or something like that Christopher Smith and his family and his father Paul Smith and brothers , the fathers men were Military and move a lot.
SO they have to connect to my mom’s Smith line some place behind them back there, it has to be. it is the only Smith line I have ever seen that I am sure is the right phenotype.
so I would love to know what their Y line is .
of course I won’t know if it is a euro or native line for sure unless someone in that line knows and does testing.
but I have seen the phenotype in Germans and North African and all around the Atlantic and Souix . But finally a Smith that has that type . yahoooooo
Now that line is why my sister and my mom
” look native ” and I look well… weird.. so if it is really native and or not native in some scientific jokes computer is a whole other question. we may never know what is the truth unless that line tests and someone knows for sure.. I know for sure it married lots and lots of natives.. but I don’t know for sure what it might have been originally 100’s or even thousands of years ago. but I would love to be able to make a guess more than by phenotypes.
thanks for any help !
January 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #36897Test your own autosomal DNA through either Ancestry, 23andMe, or FamilyTreeDNA (this is their FamilyFinder test). Upload it to Gedmatch (free), and you can test your own ethnicity. 23andMe is supposed to be the most sensitive to Native American. I just sent in a sample to 23andMe, but more for the possibility that they may be permitted by the FDA to again release their health information.
More and more there is evidence that you cannot make unequivocal statements that this DNA or that DNA is only found in Europe, Asia, North America, etc. Yes, there are some, but when my Sinkey male yDNA was tested in 2005 through a male descendent, we were told that it was European, absolutely. Now, we know it shows signs of native, and that the haplogroup he was is frequently found among native populations.
Autosomal DNA, like AncestryDNA, 23andMe, and the Family Finder test on FamilyTreeDNA will use both parents’ DNA.
My Ancestry sample, tested through the World9 ethnicity test on Gedmatch matched my genealogy in ethnicity.

I don’t want to know my own dna . I don’t trust what they say about dna because they don’t know yet how it works and even why it mutates .
now I want to know my grandfathers history. I don’t believe in anyway that my dna is going to tell me anything real about him or his line.
I saw a picture of him and one of his daughters when I was about 14.. he was about to die and he wanted to see my mom and she refused. and I know she didn’t know what MY cousins just told me recently about him and how he had tried lots of time to contact her but her step father was awful and her dad feared what would happen to her if he did contact her and she didn’t want to move and be part of his family instead of her moms. now no one ever contacted us after that. that whole situation is kind of sad..
because I don’t know his history except for what I can guess from his genealogy , I don’t know anything really and was never told anything for sure except what I can guess because of what I know about some of the names in his ancient history. to understand his fathers line.
but no I don’t want to know what someone thinks about my dna or be put into some computer ..
Yes I only wanted to know who my mtdna connected with yes 10 years ago.
Just to see if they were all claiming paint clan… or maybe wolf
because the Cliny line was claiming wolf but it was probably a generation younger than mine was. . records during the tot years are just awful.
so just incase I wanted to make sure which one others claimed that my aunt matched..
and that was probably a really bad choice. and I have had to spend 10 years of my life trying to fix that bad choice.. and I won’t make anymore bad choices .
January 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #36899Good luck. mtDNA does nothing for me other than telling me what my haplogroup is back thousands of years. I don’t even look at it anymore.

January 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #36900I just want to know if anyone knows what those male lines are in their family that are Smiths or look like those Smiths.
sorry dear because well autosomal doesn’t tell you anything more than what mtdna does . well it only tells you two lines. and two ghosts .
10 years I wanted to know what clan my direct line was and that was 10 years ago before I started to figure out what they can really and can’t tell you and won’t ever tell you because they don’t clue how it really works.
Let’s give them a hundred years ok before anyone believes what they are so convinced of..
in the mean time no one of them has any right to tell anyone where they came from or who they are … because they have a bad joke that some call science going on.
in the mean time it is very sad that so many people
“believe in science” and whatever it is they are doing it doesn’t deserve such homage and or any sort of loyalty.
January 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #36901Sorry, Nannae, but autosomal DNA has told me my ethnicity, the likelihood of the genetic disease in my family that I currently have, helped me break through family tree lines that are stuck, find cousins I did not know I had, and helped adopted relatives find their place in my family tree.
mtDNA has had virtually no use for me. If I were interested in matching my mother’s female ancestor from 1000 years ago, it would be the best test.
No further comments from me on this thread. My Smiths are not likely related to yours.

January 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #36902you of course know that the traditional way to be native american isn’t by” blood quantums ” right ?
well it is to know your father and his mother’s clans and your mothers clan and her father’s clan .
but that is all that is there in everyone one !
so whatever it is they told you they see there isn’t there. and someone seeing what they want to see ,
now that is all about who you trust and who you believe in .
they can’t see one drop of anything that isn’t there and only your parents clans are there.
there is no such thing as quantum.
there is such things as clans.
I want to know my smiths male clan lines.
the best way to do that is to to find and understand his Y lines history.
in the Mayan you can find it recorded like this almost 1500 years ago .
K’anal
Yohl I(K’nal)( I can give you lots more examples ) this is not a name! it is her two clans!! her mothers clan and her fathers clan.
- in north america it looks like this just 200 years ago !
Kaneahintwaghte and Canaseraga
Kanastoge/ Conestoga Pa.
and even Canada
so gee what male clan line is that ?
someday I promise science just might catch up with our ancestors….. but I doubt it. :p
because if they say there is anything else there but the dna of the 4 clans they are lying to you.
don’t believe them.
the only think they can see is basically your fathers clan and your mother fathers clan . this is all that determines a “breed” or “race” that is all .
and occasionally they might see two ghost like female lines. other than that there is nothing else there..
they are lying to you. and they have lots of crystal balls type magic going on..
not knowing your 4 clans does in no way negate a persons history and their culture and their inheritances passed down to them over thousands of years…
but knowing your 4 clans will help you explain you to you and all your disease issues too.. and you wouldn’t need any crystal balls from those who claim to understand that.

By World9 on GedMatch do you mean ‘MDLP Project – MDLP K=9’, or the ‘Eurogenes – K9’ test?
January 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #36904I mean MDLP World9, Marc. It and Eurogenes K13 are the two that are best for testing Native American ethnicity, at least as far as I understand.
I did use yDNA to look at the line that family stories said had “Indian blood close.” We tested a male descendent from this line. While FTDNA insisted it was a European haplogroup, a university researcher further tested it against a known Native American descendent’s DNA. The match allowed me to identify that line as Shawnee. Hence, I am, along with other documentation, an accepted member of the Piqua Shawee.

In Becky’s case, it did tell us something. She was part of the Nat Geo Genome project. We expected to see European but her Eve was Mongolian, telling us she likely had a female ancestor who made the Bering Sea crossing. An interesting tidbit but of no real value in determining who her other 10,000 ancestors are or who she is.
I agree with you entirely. I think DNA testing is the future of genealogy and it has already starting rocking some boats of preconceived notions 😉

well so did hundreds of thousands of Russians responsible for the fur trade call across canada and the usa all in the last 500 years . you might want to find out about the Russians and the Russian fur trade in Washington state. I mean the whole state is Russians who came during the fur trade years. really no one knows it unless you ever lived there.
so I see that I made Huge mistake and need to fix it somehow.
I put DNA in the header and I don’t want to know about dna or the anyone theory of dna or anything like that !
Ok so should I start another thread maybe ?
because I didn’t want and don’t to talk about anyone ideas and theories about dna, or and scientism’s philosophers and beliefs . I have had 10 years of that , I don’t want to hear it again.
What I wanted was only to know about that Smith line > the Smiths in “TINY” the small house movement ” or even a Y line that has that same phenotype as that smith line does . it is kind of unique and I can’t quite place it .
so should I start a new thread ? or can someone change the heading ^^^ please ?
I don’t WANT any kind of general ” dna” info or arguments or beliefs or theories.
SO I made a very bad mistake and what I want is info about that Smith or maybe a Y line with that phenotype.
thank you for any help!

wow I sorry!

Your posting style could be considered offensive by some members. Several members have tried to help you in your search. We deal in research of documents and yes, now, DNA testing. I’m not sure what you are trying to find but I’m starting to think you won’t find it at Saponitown.

I saw nothing about Smiths in any post made yet .
except one person refusing to tell about her Smiths.
I think I just found my Smiths.
so thank you guys.
