I was looking at some family tree STUFF and realized I have no idea where any of the places are.
One place is in VA. Goochland Co..
Another is West River Hundred, Anne Arundel, Maryland.
I’ll have more but this is a start.

*Anne Arundel County was formed in the summer of 1650, the third county formed in Maryland and was named in honor of Lady Anne Arundel, wife of Cecilus (Calvert), Lord Baltimore. There were five Hundreds in Anne Arundel Co in 1707: Herring Creek Hundred was the southern-most part of the County; West River Hundred lay to the north; Herring Creek Hundred, around the West River; South River Hundred was the area between West River Hundred, and the South River. Middle Neck Hundred took in the area between the South River and Severn River Broad Neck and Town Hundred was the northern-most, extending up to the Baltimore County Line, and was the area east of the Severn River. It included the original settlement of Providence.

My Chaney ancestors started out in Anne Arundel Co. Maryland. I hope to visit some of the homesites, still in existence, some day.

I live about 10 miles from this “Bermuda Hundred”. The Citie of Henricus at Dutch Gap is a reproduction/reenactment settlement and oddly enough it is adjacent to Farrars Island once owned by an ancestor of mine by the name of William Farrar. Ain’t it funny how things work out?
I need to get over to Farrar’s Island and check it out. I had read somewhere that the Saponi originally were settled in this area and then moved west of here.
You might be connected with folks who moved with mine too (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pahuntin/egle-1883.htm). The Sinkey is mine. The Chaney and Chain (Chaney or Cheney) came from around Anne Arundel, MD.

That makes you kinda connected to me. My Sinkeys intermarry with the Ricketts, although we can’t figure out who that William Sinkey was.
Do you have any stories that might help us figure out these folks? We are pretty sure that Richard is our William’s father and we think that there was a William who was his father but beyond that, they kind of just appear. They may/may not be related to Sankeys.
I did have a Rev. War pension from Captain Ricketts (the one who marries the Chaney) that states that his father came north from the Hagerstown area which places that group with my Greens. We think then, that the Green who lived with the Ricketts (Chaney spouse) was likely part of my Green group. Many of them came up the Potomac.
