It could be that she is related. Pamela Mount married into my Carpenter line. My uncle says that there are stories of Native American in the Grandpa’s Carpenter line, as well as the 2 lines in his wife’s (my grandmother) ancestry. Both my uncle and I believe the Native American was Pamela Mount. I have seen that surname a lot in mixed lines, and we have no parents for her, another sign of NA. I just looked her up on my tree which was created from the heavily-researched Carpenter line (My uncle helped write the genealogy and is responsible for tieing it to the Thomlinson and Swearingen lines with his research.). It simply says she was born in PA, nothing specific, so it would be difficult to figure out who her family was. I do know that there was an Indian trader by the name of Mount or Mounts, but I do not know if this is the line. Mom has/had an image of her daughter but can’t find it to see if she looks Indian.

January 31, 2007 at 2:57 pm #37828Hello Cindy,
Thank you for the interesting details. I know that Delaware tribe used to live in PA. Some of their descendants are still there. I just informed my FB friend, Shannon Simpson Perez about your Mount line. Her grandmother was a Mounts. Would you be interested in having me connect you with her on FB? Let me know if you are interested.

I am very surprised to get your message. Yes, I also have Parker and McNabb lines in my family tree. My 2nd great grandmother Rebecca May Parker’s mother Nancy Anderson and her sister Malinda were twin sisters.
Malinda married John McNabb (I think his first name was John but I will look at my paternal grandmother’s uncle’s year 1977 letter with family history notes). Malinda and her husband McNabb had 3 boys (first the twin boys and then their one younger brother). I can’t believe that you contacted me here. Wow!
I am so surprised to hear from you. You have to be a distant cousin. I do have year 1919 photo of Malinda A. McNabb’s niece, Rebecca May Parker. She looked very Indian. Let me know if you want to see it.
My DNA test results show that my paternal grandmother Lestra Gray’s oral tradition of native blood was correct.
Have you ever been told about native blood in your family. I am curious about you. What is your name? Where do you live now? I was born and raised in Los Angeles. My grandmother was from AL. I can be reached by email:
wmcunn92@gmail.com and I hope to learn more about your research. Hope to hear back from you.

Sorry for the late reply Wendy, I’ve had internet problems and very busy lately.
It is always possible there is some relation somewhere along the lines. Both of these lines go way back for me. The McNabbs on my dads moms side, and the Parkers on my mothers mothers side. For many generations now we have been in Indiana. I am pretty solid on my McNabbs, but still have much to verify on the Parkers, and am not as certain of that line till further verification. I will break them down for you to see if there may be a connection. I do want to get my DNA done one of these days to also find relations and connections in that way, but have not as of yet.
Going strait down the surnames start in my line, and going back generations with birth year and state – death and state to give an idea of time, location and migration pattern.
In researching the name, if I understand correctly, McNabb name originated in Scotland with one of the clans there.
Sarah McNabb 1846 OH – Indiana
Joseph McNabb 1804 OH – Indiana
John McNabb 1781 VA (Shepherdstown) – 1851 Coshocton OH
George McNabb 1750 PA – 1818 Belmont OH (Married Martha Shepherd of Shepherdstown VA)
John McNabb 1710 Ireland or PA? – 1757 Lancaster PA (found in Quaker records)
William McNabb 1679 Meath Ireland – 1749 Lancaster PA (found in many Quaker records which help immigrated to PA)
For the Parkers, being more common and of a large family, I’m not as positive I have this right all the way back, but it is my best guess going on what I have found so far…it doesn’t help that that there are so many with the name “Silvanus-Sylvanous” and variant spellings in the family. There is said to be Native American on this side of the family, but I have not been able to verify of a specific surname. Interestingly, Emma being one of my grandmothers grandmas, could be the one I posted on here : http://saponitown.com/forum/showthread.php?4476-Pocahontis-club
Emma May Parker 1876 IN – 1965 IN
Sylvanous Parker 1848 OH – 1916 IN
Dr. James W. Parker 1820 Seneca NY – 1894 IN
Sylvanous Parker 1804 MA – 1871 Allen OH
Sylvanous Parker 1769 Barnstable MA – 1871? MA or OH?
Elisha Parker 1748 Yarmouth MA – 1841 MA
Jacob Parker 1702 MA – 1776 MA
Benjamin Parker 1673 MA – 1717 ?
Robert Parker 1637 probably England, – 1680 give or take MA
It would be interesting to know your side and of possible family connections.
