Thanks Mousini 78 for all of your informative responses. However, I/we will not make the pow-wow in Clarksville in May due to a complete change in plans and the lateness in getting the needed information. The one in June is an impossiblity for pretty much the same reasons. Please keep me updated on the upcoming calendar of events. We like toplan ahead as we are “seniors”and need that extra time:-). Wish you all the best success on your Chereonhonka Pow-wow and also the Clarksville one. Oona’ Sophronia
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #26016Felicia has reserved site 19 in Camping Area B at North Bend Park for the 4th and 5th of August. That’s homecoming for her church, so there will be alot of her clan there. If anybody want to come in and rent a cabin, they’re a bit down the road at another park, about 20 minutes away. If anyone rents one it would be nice to gather there in the heat of the day if it’s too hot, but mostly we like to be out in water at North Bend Park. Great swimming, and then we will be dancing Tutelo songs in the moonlight and see how Spirit moves us.
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #26019Thanks for that information, Linda. I will pass it along right away so that we can make preparations for coming down. Ida, my sister, ormy neice, Sophronia M. will contact Felicia after I have passed it on and gotten a head count. I pray your upcoming pow-wows will be a huge success. Will you be posting pictures of them? Wishing you all the best. Any and all information please continue to pass along to me.Thnaks~~Sophronia
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #26063Ok, thanks for the dates….nothing on our calendar yet for those dates, so will pencil it in. Not sure if we will be staying up there or commuting back and forth…depends on our budget at the time (and the price of gas). I do happen to know a great B & B in Clarksville…we stayed there on our honeymoon…:D
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #26064Won’t make it this year. Will be out west on vacation.

I do plan on being there. Actually very excited about it.:D
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #26565How many of us have made arrangements?
Need to start getting a head-count for events?

I am planning on attending. Looks like I will stay at home in Clarksville but will attend the gathering when we are not sleeping. 🙂
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #26570Not sure if we will be staying in Clarksville or coming straight from home…depends on availability and funds. Planning on coming up for Saturday at least…and maybe Sunday. Cabins are only available for the week…well, you can rent them if no one else has, but, that’s ok…we have a fondness for Clarksville …
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #27155i know i posted to the event so does that mean the campout is in August?

This is Wind-dancer, I know that I want be able to make this gathering do to my schedule of event’s. Our annual Rodeo ; The Greensboro golf tournament I hope I can Qualify for. So please keep me infromed of the events that are coming up. Oh! BTW don’t forget about the Pow-Wow the last week-end of Sept.
December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #27192I’m a little confused. Is that a group camp site? If I’m at the right web site, it appears to be a single with a 2 car parking limit?
Got to see those cabins at the state park, and they’re gorgeous. So is “the big house”. I’m interested in going to either place.

The camp ground is divided into single sites. You can check out the website for the camping fees and all. We will probably be staying in Clarksville…these old bones don’t do well on the ground. And just drive down…it’s not that far.

Here’s the link to reserve a camping spot, if you want. It’s in camping area B. Let me know if you are interested in staying at a B & B…there’s a very reasonable one in Clarksville…and a couple of motels.
Aho

December 23, 2006 at 3:57 pm #27236Thanks, Becky. I was looking at the web site for North Bend Park (mentioned in Linda’s last post). I think that’s why I’m confused.
We drove around in Occoneechee State Park on our way back home & loved it. It was getting too dark to see much, but it felt like home.
I know what you mean about old bones on the ground! The tent used to always be on stand-by, but now I’m not even sure where it is. ;~)
I’m about 97% sure we’ll stay up there overnight. I’ve always felt “something” about the Bugg’s Island area, but have never stopped over. Think it’s getting time to give it my undivided attention. ;~)
If we don’t have a carload of NDNs, maybe we’ll take my truck. The “Blue Turtle” has a shell. Otherwise, maybe the tent, equipped with cushy cots for the achy spines will do. But I will toss out the B&B idea, too.
