Oh okay wow I was kinda worried. Are you guys going to the Nansemond Pow Wow? If so I would love to meet you guys. I am so happy I was able to get my ggg grandmothers picture as my avatar picture up on here!
August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32034We usually attend Nansemond, but, this year we will be staying closer to home and going to King. I have a daughter that is due to deliver any day now. Nansemond is almost a 4 hr. drive for us, while King is less than half that. There are quite a few in September that we will be attending..so maybe we can meet up then.
Aho

August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32039Hey Becky, Timmy and I will be at King. It’s only about a forty minute drive from our house. I’ve been looking forward to this one. And the two next month that are close by. Stewart and Martinsville. Beeleaf said she and Sandy would be there also. It’s so great to see family.
August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32067Hello DHarden,
I rarely come here anymore but I wondered over here today and noticed the ‘Harden’ in your name.
I have Harden(in-ing) ancestors from NC and am wondering if there could possibly be a connection.
Would you mind giving information on your Harden line?
Ours started out as Harden and Hardin and then finally Harding
Thank you.

August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32068My Harden line comes from Georgia originally. They came from Waynesboro Ga in the early 1900’s and moved to Durham NC. I was able to trace back 3 generations but thats all. I have a few cousins and aunts. Which first names are you looking for? Maybe they match.
August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32071Wow, that’s quite a coincidence….I went to school in Durham and still work in Durham. You’re aren’t related to Jim, are you? He and I attended Northern together. I know his is spelled differently.
August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32073My line goes through a James Greene Harden(in-ing) But they left NC in the mid 1800’s so we probably don’t have a connection.
Thanks anyway. 🙂

Don’t you have Hardins who lived in IA for a bit? If so, with the surname Green, they are very likely connected with my Greens.

August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32075Naw no relation to Jim, but I did have several cousins that went to Northern. Gilmores and Scarletts. I went to Durham the schools name has changed though.
August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32084Hi Tech! Long time no talk 🙂
We could be related. You never know. 🙂 We don’t know where James got his middle name of Greene, but it could have been someone else’s surname in the family at the time. As we all know, surnames often wound up as middle names.
Do you have any Harding, Hardin, or Harden’s in your line?

August 1, 2008 at 12:48 pm #32089Not direct lines but married. They were around eastern IA where my folks were.
