Linda,
I am definitely interested in learning the Lakota language. Please keep me informed on any progress toward that goal.
Thanks
Jade
May 11, 2005 at 3:40 pm #21168Thanks for your posts, me posting again. (lol procrastinating from school, back to books)
Actually, I saw teh green books online and I think Imight be able to get one fo the Hale books here in Ontario. (I saw the online one) Linda, (I think) mentioned/ordered the one study someone did that you can get by placing order online?
I wondered if anyone heard anymore of that lady from VA (she is with a university) who was making it a “working” language.
(or workign on it) I wonder if she will put something out.
I want to get the books as a treat to myself when I am finished in mid June (my course). (So, the Hale books online, how long did they take to come)
Does it really come down to using another language too to be able to make it work (ie. put sentences together etc?)?
I guess that would have to be Lakota then?
I just want to start making some sentences etc.
I just wonderd how it was when folks combined the two, I guess like German and English type of thing.
Ok, back to books.
Well I can say Pila Huc. 🙂

May 11, 2005 at 3:40 pm #27973There is a wonderful yahoo group with daily lessons on Lakota grammar and vocabulary. It’s done via a Yahoo messenger group chat, orally. She holds classes three times a day, most days. They are free. You’ll need to have Yahoo Messenger installed and a mic and headset/speakers.

I’m there about once a day.
May 11, 2005 at 3:40 pm #36275Wondering how close this is to the original language. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEs6Rz1JYQ8
