Hi Magnolia!
I’m still here although not much lately. I haven’t done much with those friends requests. My e-mail is still the same. I do better with that.
This whole group is so tangled it’s mind boggling.
Lewis Tanner is in my direct line as is Joseph Sr. and Joseph Jr. brother to Edward. I’ll get back to this yet and to you. My life is still crazy hectic. Saj

Yeah, my life has been going the same this year . Everybody, almost.
I was doing alot of gen research on our VA/NC lines I have so many notebooks with different surnames that I researched.
Then,I got an idea to to do Jones. My Wm Jones and there are others,
I’m sure. I found Wm Jones M. Eliz.Ledbetterand their daughter Martha m.Francis Ledbetter.I found Wm , lived Nazimond Rd ( Amelia Co,Va),
Richard Nottowayandpeter Dinwiddie. They named sons aftereach other.Imadea chart and discovered you can’t trace a Jones without a Batte.+++Chamberlayne,Mallory,Statton,etc.Ihad just taken apart a badly put together script of the Burton family when I discovered a Richard Foster m.Wilmoth Worsham Jan.1778.Amelia,and was desc from the Burtons whose line desc from Essex Bevill(e) 1st w.Eliz.Webster(#2Amy Butler).back to Valentine Allen whose daughter m.Col.Thomas Page whose wife was Mary Burton who I think may have had a second husband.
( I just saw last night ( someone is looking for Wootens) My gg-gm ,Mary Daniel m.Daniel Foster–her brother, Wm Daniel m. Polly Williams b. 1815.
in Rowan,NC.) WOOTENS in that family.
Anyway, I was finding your line links more than once anor twice with my family lines.I desc from Ch. Branch I + II to Samuel B.’sdaughter ursulla whose mother was Ursulla Goode, a sibling to your Goode’s.
Now I found outthat My maternal grandmother’s mother-Sarah Harris’s mother, Sarah Parker’s father ,Uriah Parker’s father, David Parker (m.Sarah Jenkins ) father, Edward Parker m.Susan Southall. Susan was the daughter of Patience W. Branch ( m. Rev.Daniel Southall and moved their large family 1796 to NC from Halifax,VA There is also a Halifax Co.Nc -confusion there.)…………..
….who ,if my tracing is correct-I have to double check it -is the daughter of John Branch whose father, Wm B. m. JANE HATCHER ! I think Wm was the son of James B. son of Thomas B. son of Ch. Branch I.
I’ve already found furher back :Braddock, Reed Gough,.
I wascheckingoverthe Lewis Tanner line and found a Jones connection.
One document mentioned in the Wm & Mary Q. said he was listed as ‘Lucius’. Margaret Wood( adopted daughter of Major General Abraham Wood -(who came her about age 7-9 as an apprentice to Samuel Matthews-who some think was Abe’s mother’s brother.)
m.PeterJones I. had a son Abraham who mentions a gs Peter and gd Margaret Jones Wm & M states she married Lewis Tanner.I think a Hatcher was his 1st wife.
Grandmother-Margaret W.J./ L W & T = 05-04-1718/1719.
I’m going to go over my notes and get back to you.
Have a nice Day!

AnonymousInactiveI have my grandmother’s mother’s family. Her name was sarah ann Elizabeth Harris.
She was the daughter of Williamson Green Harris and Sarah Parker born in Rowan, Nc .( I made a mistake on Lucy Scott in my post. Her name was Lucy Stewart and I think she married Capt Thomas Harris’s son, Wm. ) I have to recheck my papers.
Wm’son G. Harris was the son of Williamson Harris m. Christiana Fisher ( brother, Congressman Charles Fisher NC father of Col, Ch. Fred. Fisher. -killed Battle of 1st Manassas, Va.
Williamson’s father was Col. West Harris, Jr m. Edith ledbetter, father Charles L. M. Frances Randall. Father Peter Randall ( Yadkin DAR ) m. Frances Barrett.
Col. West Harris was the son of- Weston H. -VA to NC m. ? Mary Turner.
September 17, 2007 at 6:24 pm #34244We had two Thomas Harrises in a row. Who was this Captain Thomas Harris?

AnonymousInactiveHi linda
Capt Thomas Harris Immigrant 1611. Married #1 Adria Gurganey She left their two children in England . She was listed 1623 as a ‘ maiden ‘ on the Ship Marmaduke to England. died by 1626./#2 Joanne Osborne who I descend from. her father was Capt .Thomas Osborne mother ?
He had a son named Thomas who I think my records have him not marrying. Thomas Sr. has 3 sons: Thomas , Edward and Wm. It was either Thomas or Edward who left his property to his nephew ? Thomas and his mother, Lucy Stewart, wife of Wm.

I had to cross reference alot. I found a wealth of information on the St. John’s Church 1682-1699 church records Hatcher, Haskins.
I also did Valentine Allen’s desc and Col. Thomas Page and the Burtons and Strattons, Batte’s.
In a nutshell, it dawned on me last night what was going on. (
Allen’s daughter Susannah m. Col. Th. Page whose w. was Mary Burton.( another m. on Church list- Susannah m. a Burton. ( leaving details out for now)
Charles Featherstone was ‘headright’ for Major General Abraham Wood whose daughter ( step?) m. Peter Jones I. Their son, Peter II m. Dorothy Chamberlayne, m. Eliz. Statton f. Th S. Her sister, Rebecca Stratton.
It was so complicated I had to make three charts.
There is another Stratton-Sarah -who may be their other sister.
She married Peter Jones son/gs of Richard Jones the Indian trader ( married Batte).
To make a long story short Joseph Tanner sued Rebecca Stratton’s 3rd husband after her 2nd Charles Featherstone died.
Rebecca’s 3rd was Samuel Newman who refused to return a horse Charles F.was holding for him.
Richard Jones I and Peter Jones I are brothers. I think I descend from their other brother, Wm. who relieved Peter as overseer of tobacco crops when he had to go work for Wm. Byrd’s militia.
I will get back to you tomorrow. Samuel Newman held 12 headrights and alot of them were Strattons.

Bozeman-Boazman
They lived in different regions of VA. Isle of Wight : Wm, Ambrose, Henry, Ralph. Charles City: Harmon , John
Bladen, NC:
Ann & Samuel b. 1730
I’ve been studying Jones/Branch/Batte,etc. lines since April.
This marriage is in the genealogy of one of my DNA cousins. This is Ann & Samuel’s gg-grandaughter :
Susannah A BOZEMAN 1874-1899 of GA – from Thcaker&Padgett Ancestry tree
-daughter of John K BOZEMAN and Sarah C Darby
-other names on BOZEMAN side are Tarbutton, Richardson, Jefferson, and BRANCH
-other names on Darby side are Biddy, and Brooks
September 17, 2007 at 6:24 pm #37944I have found more cousins on Bozeman/Jones line who correspond with DNA on our Indiana Jones Smith Line. Jacob N Bozeman 1763-1837 who married Fannie Allen – son of Samuel Bozeman and Ann Richardson. Zachary T Bozeman descends from them on his paternal side. He descends from Elizabeth Harrell 1730 -1797 Edgecombe NC on his maternal side.
