Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Hi, I noticed you have a William Wooten mentioned in your post? My GG grandfather was W. O. Wooten married a Priscilla Collins in N.C. to my knowledge. There is a possibilty it could have been Va. They had several children, I only know the name of one, my G grandfather. He was Elsie Edgar Wooten. If anyone could help with my W. O. Wooten and Priscilla Collins Wooten I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you very much.

The LDS shows Sarah Daniel born c1751 died 1822/23 in Jessamine co Ky. Married twice, first to Jesse Womack who died in 1782 and then marrying Edward Hancock. If they married in 1792 whe would be about 40. Here is a site I found that shows numerous Womack marriages. See Sarah Hancock? First Daniels? It may be a bit mixed up but it seems to show the two marriages.

I’m seeing some of the Womacks listed on this page in my DNA cousin’s genealogy:
Abraham Womack 1726-1800 married to Elizabeth Stubblefield. This page says born in Henrico Co, cousins’ genealogy says Halifax Co.
John Womack 1653-1725 married to Mary Akins 1655-1725.
There are multiple Allen lines marrying in, the last ancestor with the Allen name is Sophia Eugenia Allen 1795 SC – 1888 MS.
There are also Collins ancestors in this tree:
Joseph Collins 1667-1748 VA
son Joseph Collins 1687 VA – 1757 Spotsylvania married to Susannah Lewis
daughter Tabitha Collins 1718 VA -1802 GA married to Edmund Foster, Henry Gatewood and John M Holladay
daughter Elizabeth Foster 1744 Spotsylvania VA – 1802 GA married Richard Gatewood 1740-1794
The Fuqua name that Saj mentions is another one marrying into my mixed lines present-day.
