Scott, it is just great to have found you. Lets do compare info. I have done research in Coweta County, Georgia where John A. and Eveline Herridge Webb married. John A. had a brother (Milton Webb) who married Eveline’s sister (Susan Herridge). All of John A. and Eveline’s children were born in Coweta Co. John died in 1857. Eveline stayed on the tax rolls and the children on the poor school rolls until about 1864. The war was being fought real heavily in Georgia about that time, so I don’t know if the family fled or if Eveline died and the children sent to families to live. I believe that Milton and Susan was in Heard Co. in 1880 also. I don’t have a list of their children on my computer so I will need to dig for the info. They may have had a daughter named Elizabeth.

I was so excited when I found James C. brothers all in Texas. I know that Isaac, John and Marion spent sometime in Ala. Isaac probably married in Ala. and I know that John did but don’t have his marriage record. Marion Gilbert never married. He lived with John and when John died (a hay wagon fell on him), Marion stayed on with Mary. Marion was in the 1920 census with Mary, I have tried to get a death certificate on him but haven’t found one yet. I have found a death certificate on Mary. The sisters of James C. I know nothing about, maybe with your lead we can find more. What I have you are welcome to. I have your Ellen Evely listed as Elenda Eveline who married Charlie P. Riley, is this correct? I am planning a trip to Hill County and McLennan as soon as my husband recovers. I also received a email this morning from a woman who has been looking in records for info on Marion Gilbert. Please let me know about the info you have.

Hello everyone,

I’ve just ‘found’ your wonderful forum and immediately registered. My family is haynes and I’ve researched for years. Two Haynes brothers, Anthony and Andrew married daughters of William Eaton and Mary Rives, his wife. Anthony married Jane and Andrew married Anne. Both brothers died in 1753, and Jane married 2nd Nathaniel Edwards, while Ann married 2nd the Rev. John Pugh.

Andrew & Anthony’s sister, Mary, was the 1st wife of Allen Jones and one of their daughters, Mary Jones, married Thomas Eaton the youngest son of William and Mary Eaton. She was his 3rd wife; the first being Anna Bland (daughter of Theodorick and Frances Bolling) with whom he had a daughter, ANNA BLAND EATON; the 2nd being Anne Stith (daughter of Buckner Stith & Susanna Munford) in Brunswick County 08 December (bond) 1781 with whom he had two sons; William Eaton who married twice & Thomas Buckner Eaton who died childless. Many folks have incorrectly placed the daughters of Mary Jones and Thomas Eaton as children of Anne Stith. Mary Allen Eaton and Harriett Bolling Eaton were daughters of Mary Jones & Thomas Eaton.

To more entwine our Haynes & Eaton family: When Ann Eaton Haynes married John Pugh they had a son & named him Eaton Pugh. Eaton Pugh married his cousin Mary Allen Eaton (daughter of Thomas Eaton & Mary Jones, his wife).

More entwining: when Mary Haynes Jones died in 1768, Allen Jones married Rebecca Edwards who was the daughter of Jane Eaton Haynes & Col. Nathaniel Edwards, her 2nd husband. In essence, Allen Jones married the niece of his first wife, though there was no blood between Mary Haynes Jones & Jane Eaton Haynes Edwards.
