DAJ42 your city got snowplows? Dang, we just drive on it til it turns to ice, once in a while they through gravel on it.
We got another 8 inches on Sunday, so the office was closed again today. I spent the day shoveling and packing the car. I hope to attempt a normaly 4 hour drive tomorrow eveing before the next storm hits full blast. Hopefully the roads will open by then, they been closed for days.
Up to 6 inches of snow today and again tomorrow. I don’t need this much white for Christmas.

Yes, spilleddi, we got plows. And graders. And 8″ on the way, with up to another 2 feet by the 30th. Good luck with the drive…that storm is supposed to hit us about 10:00 a.m.
Our record for snow on the ground is 42″. We’ve got 40″ now.
Techteach, there’s white Christmas, and then there’s WHITE Christmas. Looks like many of us will celebrate the latter.
Right now sitting here in the Sheriffs station/jail, it is cold very wet, Drizzling with patches of fog. We are preparing for a snow that may or may not actually hit us for 3+ inches on top of our freezing rain.
How’s that song go ” I dreaming of a WHITE Christmas…….” Hope you all stay safe and have a great CHRISTmas!!!!

Hi Bob and All, Here in Indiana right now it’s 33 degs and not too bad. Yesterday was awful~bout everything coated with ice. Hope all have a great holliday and many blessings~~:) ~Greydove~^~
For the first time in 3 days, it quit snowing for 3 whole hours. And there’s a heat wave, as it got up to about 23. Now it’s snowing again, not really supposed to stop for several more days. Might get some rain/freezing rain Sunday and Monday along with the snow. Rain, even freezing rain, on top of the snow is a lot better than snow on top of the freezing rain.
Well, warmer temps and lots of rain took the snow but now there are flood warnings. What a goofy winter!

Well, we had to travel out of town the 26th, not for anything fun. Snuck the drive there between storms, ditto the drive back, although the latter included 50 miles of freezing fog. Then we had a heat wave to 40 degrees! Caught up on snow removal while doing nothing.
Expected 2″ to 4″ of snow today. Nope, not a chance. Got 12″ in 6 hours. 😮 Then the cold wind came up and it dropped straight to the teens in a couple hours. There’s apparently 2 more weeks of storms lined up waiting to hit us. About 5 feet has fallen in 2 weeks.
To all those downwind of the Pacific Northwest: consider this an advance apology for the stuff that’s heading your way.
We lost our snow to heavy rains that are now causing flooding. My family Christmas celebrations have now been delayed a total of 4 times, three for my in-laws who could not travel and once for my husband and me who could not get home due to an ice storm. But at least we were not stuck at the airport like so many were.

Okay Tanya, this is quite enough:) of the white stuff….lol. Not too often our big Midwest storms can be blamed on the West….usually it’s the Nor’easters that get us.
Actually, we have had a lot of white, but not too cold, which is okay by me:)

It warmed up enough that the latest storm came mostly as rain, although we got the flood problems now. Snow in the hills is still messing up my work, and will make my new years travels interesting.
We had heck of a wind storm yesterday that I’m sure is blowing your way. Fortunately when the power goes out, theres enough snow left around to stick stuff from the freezer in it!
I’m at work, Sheriffs Dept, and it is real windy and getting real cold. Thanks to our friends in the NORTHWEST!!!!!!. We’ve had our rain and freezing rain. Many folks don’t understand what freezing rain is but it ain’t good. Sleet and freezing rain mixture was our latest venture. BUT, right now we’re not tooooooo bad. Supposed to get down to the mid teens tonight. I think it is in the mid-20’s now and dropping like a rock. We haven’t had much of the white stuff. Our rivers are still running hard and going down for the next go-round.
I have a GEO Tracker I usually drive to work, my main job for the MO State Dept of Corrections, about 40 minutes away. Since the freezing rains etc I’ve been driving my Truck. Well today I drove the Tracker and wouldn’t you know it the wind was blowing so hard out of the north I almost couldn’t keep it on the road. I ended up driving about 35-40 mph and still had a hard time holding it. I swear the wind was blowing about 30-40 mph with wind gusting cross wind. The official weather said it was only about 25-30 mph.
Just keep this stuff up North, will you guys……PLEASE.

As spilleddi mentioned, the latest one brought mostly wind. Little snow and it was almost 40 this morning. Another wave is supposed to hit New Year’s Day. It’s supposed to warm up throughout the day and turn to rain eventually. If it stays snow, it’ll be another foot or more.
Bob, we’re trying to keep it away from you, but I appear to be powerless this winter. 😉

Just checked the weather, I see you’re at it again…lol:) Oh well, it hasn’t been that cold and I don’t mind the snow, if we get a breather in between. All be safe!
