Hi~Y’All~ Well, we have 8 days of the new year under our belts, eh? Current conditions here in Indiana~ Today
Partly cloudy until midday then clearing. Highs in the upper 20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Lowest wind chill readings 3 below to 7 above zero until midday. Right now at 7:20 am it’s 14* with a slight snow cover. Can you say “Spring”~ha~ha~ I wish, but soon this Winter will be but a memory. Saturday should be a wonderous nite with the full moon or as we all know~could make us a lil crazy, eh? 😉 Take care across the west to east and north to south~~:D ~Greydove:cool: ~^~:)

Nearly steady temperatures in the upper 20s. North winds around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
Tonight Mostly cloudy then becoming partly cloudy. Lows around 19. Northwest winds 5 to 15 mph.
Sunday Partly cloudy until midday then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 20s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday Night Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 20s. West winds around 5 mph.
Monday Cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow. Highs in the lower 30s. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

We are getting a blizzard today, but darn it, I don’t see that the all day meeting that I do not want to go to today is canceled!

I guess we will be getting the winter blast at the end of the week, with lows around 12 and highs in the 20s. Brrrrrrrr! Just grateful that there doesn’t seem to be any moisture attached to it….

Mother Nature? National Weather Service? Martians? Although I’m glad that the worst weather has been exported from hereabouts, I know I’m not responsible. Heck, we had a few days of January flooding to worry about after the 9 miles of snow decided to mostly melt in 2 days. Now we’re back to melting during the day and freezing at night to make the morning commute *interesting*.

It’s due to the generosity of our northern neighbors, the Canadians. It was decided that they were being too stingy with their wonderful winter weather so it was sent south. The first installment was the Alberta Clipper. That wasn’t enough, so the Saskatchewan Screamer was sent down.

Hi All, This morning here in Indiana it is 16 below 0 with windchill of 30 below. Predicted to be sunny and up to 5 degrees for the high (which may feel warm compared to yesterdays high of -1. Heard em say on the news this morning that its the coldest we’ve had ’round here in 5 yrs. We’re ready for the January thaw!! Supposed to warm up to double digit temps by Saturday (warm enough to snow!!)lol! Well, stay warm all y’all in the frigid zones!! And y’all down south, could you send up some heat? It would be very welcome~:) ~Greydove~^~
I would love to send you some heat. We got up to a tempature of 9 degrees this morning. And it didn’t make it out of the twenties during the day. But I’ll take it over the weather you are having.
We have had lots of schools closed the last two days due to cold. It is so cold outside that it hurts. We would not even walk 3 blocks to lunch today due to the cold.

Yeah, Yeah! we are above zero:) Actually, Friday we had -38 where I work and it was painfully cold…Today I woke up to +16 and it was wonderful…sounds like what we had here has moved East. I hope this is the peak of winter…temp wise anyway. Blessings to all, be safe.

Hi All, This morning it is 10 degs. Yesterday was sunny and nice, & reached the mid~20s. Supposed to get up in 20s today. By Thurs supposed to reach 40s~(must be our January thaw!!) But, watch out for beginning of next week!! Theres a big storm brewing and they don’t know what form it will be in by the time it reaches us~snow or rain~(XX~hope for the rain:) ) Have a great day~:D ~Greydove~^~
We are supposed to start to see a warming trend Wed. and Thurs., we’ll see. I hope and Pray that it is out of the freezing zone Thurs. I have a funeral and burial to go to. One of our Elders has passed on. I was asked to smoke him off tomorrow and help with the service. I just hope I can remember some of the traveling songs they want. I’m not a singer. We will sit up with him the rest of the week until he is buried.
off the topic, but has anyone heard of a Chickapee/Chickpee/Chickdee tribe out east? This Elder was a WWII, Korean, and Viet Nam wars Vet. He is a Retiree. He told me he had news that he was also a Chickapee. Just never heard of these people. Not unusual. There are many many tribes out east that I have never heard of.
