December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33653Yes, there’s just something about being on the outer banks along with the great spirit that you feel on those grounds…and such gracious hosts. Not to mention sharing it with our family…..
December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33654Oh, yeah, so very true. Beyond any words I could think of.
btw, photo 153 in that link has a nice view of Becky’s new shawl. Has a very soothing look about it, doncha think?
December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33664Thanks, my dear….that’s a quilt that my great grandmother made for the first born (my brother) so I decided to put it in the circle.

May be one day I can get the quilt skirt ready….LOL.
December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33701Well, the pow wow at Clarksville (OSP) was a good one. There were more vendors than I expected, so Mother’s Day shopping was pretty easy. Was disappointed that there was only one food vendor which made for long lines at meal time, but, hopefully next year there will be more. It was hot, but, the breeze late in the afternoon was certainly welcome. The dancing was good with so many of our webmembers present. It was hard to leave and go home….wanting to extend that time with precious family.

December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33720I won’t be making the one in Chesapeake;it’s a little far.
I’m planning to go to the Monacan and to the Shenandoah Valley in June.

December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33738We have been asked about going to Shenandoah….not sure yet, depends on economics. And it is quite a drive into the mountains for us. Chesapeake is about 4 hrs. as well….what about Bland or Stuart? Have you given consideration to attending them? They are pretty good pow wows.

December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33739Roca or Becky,
Do you know what date Shenandoah will be this year?
Bee
December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33740I don’t think the date is listed on our local site which is:
http://www.virginiapowwows.com
but,500nations.com had it as the last weekend in June.(Think that’s the right
url.)
Bland and Stuart are very far,I think they take almost a day of driving for me,to and back.

December 30, 2008 at 3:56 pm #33748I’m currently planning on attending the wolf creek powwow in Stuart. My grandpa’s place is right nearbye, so I can visit kin and dance at the same time.
Takes me about 3 days of driving/flying to get to Stuart from here. Just 2 or 3 thousand miles, which is why I only get out east once every few years or so.
I hope to see as many of you as I can.
