Lynella:
Good for you. The more we do that kind of thing, the easier it is for all of us, especially when it is done in a way that can be accessible for everyone. I got genealogy.com for Christmas but have found a lot of my stuff outside that source because of folks who posted their stuff where I can find it when I google.

They have a buttload of awsome Absatively Posolutely Fantabulous stuff. Ya’ gotta’ check it out!:D ALL KINDS, WAY COOL! name list of Miamis, hundreds of things they have! an 1850’s I think it was map of Indiana-WAY COOL! All kinds of Cem. stuff, records info. History, everything. then down quite a ways is Cemetary Junction, click that, pick IN, pull up alphabetic name list. It’s not there, so on the right is a menu list and thats where I gave them the info for the Cem.

October 31, 2004 at 1:14 am #13575I was searching for more historical info. about the Blackfoot Cemetery in Pike County IN. And I came across just a name of another Cem. It is called Indian Mound Cemetery, in Washington Township, Pike County, IN. It is also called Siple Mound, Old Methodist or Campbell Buring Ground.
Does anyone know anything about this particular Cem. I saw it and was really quite curious. So, I thought I’d bring it up. Lynella.
October 31, 2004 at 1:14 am #13580Another great find Lyn! 😀 When I get another chance – I’ll try to pin point it on a map; determine the legal description then see if there was ever a Bounty Land Warrant issued to anyone for that piece of property. That may – or may not tell us something.:D
October 31, 2004 at 1:14 am #13581How old is this cemetary? when was it founded? It might mean the cemetary bas built on or near an Indian mond.

October 31, 2004 at 1:14 am #13591Vance,
🙂 Yep, that’s what it is saying, that this Burial Mound is a Cemetary in Washington Township, Pike County. So, the same county as our Blackfoot Cem. just a different township and all they had was the name of it and the general location. It does say, “Very few stones in 1977.” So I’m thinking it’s old enough they don’t like, use it anymore. “Indian Mound Cemetery, Also called Siple Mound, Old Methidist or Campbell buring ground.” So, I’m thinking at some point it may have been in the CAMPBELL family and they’re probably who is burried there after the Indians who originally did their burrial mound there. So, Kerry, there’s a name to start with.;) Love & Light, Lynella.

October 31, 2004 at 1:14 am #14134Linda,
🙂 Thank you so very much for posting these. You did an excellent job with those articles. I wish the writing on the memorial sign was legable in the photo. I’m hoping as we go we find much more documented and dated historical evidence that our Blackfoot were a part of Indiana and had a good influence there. The Lewis & Clark/ Blackfoot in Indiana on the History Forum is the most recent I’ve found and that’s dated 1805. I’ll not stop digging. I’m learning so much from you and Crystal and Vance and, well everyone on here. This is an awsome and noble cause and our ancestors are all very proud of every one of you. 😉 L.
